Anyone take this class? I was just looking it up online. There is a hospital about 1 1/2 hours away that is offering the class in January. It's only a 2 hour class. Is that how long your class was?

Is it worth the drive? I will be taking a birthing class at our local hospital - it doesn't focus on twins.

I took this class, but at our hospital it was 4 2.5 hour classes. I enjoyed it. It covered a lot of the things that the 'regular' class does. The main difference was we got a tour of the NICU, while the other classes just get the regular Labor & Delivery tour. I think they also covered C/S and assisted births (think breach extraction) more than the regular class.

I enjoyed taking it the hospital where I'll deliver, because they did cover hosptial specific things; like delivering in the OR even for a vaginal birth; the whole labor/delivery room to prep room to OR to recovery and then postpartum room process; visitor policies; etc.

I live in Australia and I was very lucky to go to two courses put on by the Multiple birth association for expectant parents which was free -- the two day course was excellent and presenters gave such valuable information. It was also great having a father there talking about taking care of twins.

After these two sessions, I went to one put on by the hospital for multiples but I didn't really learn anything new except I was able to see the various levels of Nicu and special care available for the babies.

The hospital where I deliver just started doing this class this year. I believe it goes from like 9 am - 2:30 (with a lunch break). I obviously never got to take it with my twins since it's relatively new, but I would've taken it!! The lady that heads up their classes has called my husband and I both time to speak on their parent panel. they bring in other parents of young twins for the last hour of the class and the class participants can ask questions to them. It's very interesting and we LOVE doing it! Now that the class is off and rolling, we don't do it anymore...she brings back parents with the NEW babies to do the subsequent classes...we just helped get the ball rolling on the first couple classes they had. I miss doing it...it was fun.

We took this class. It was a 2 day class, but we just took the first day. I would say it would be very valuable since these 2 are your first. For me, I didn't learn much that I didn't already know. However, it was fun to hang out with other twin moms & dads for the day.
    Good luck,

Just wanted to throw my .02 in. Ours was a total and complete waste of time. If you live that far away...I don't know. Is it the hospital that you will deliver at? That was the only thing that I enjoyed about it...getting to tour the hospital we would be in. The rest of it was a total waste IMO.

I took when I was pregnant and for us it was every week for about an hour and I think it was like 6 weeks long (If I remember correctly). I personally found it informative, but it didn't really help me with preparing for delivery and most of the stuff that they taught I had already read about here.

I think I'll just be taking the 6 hour class our hospital offers - it does not focus on twins.

I've heard good things about this class.
