Thankfully my c-section is scheduled for Wednesday. I'm wondering if I'll be in pain and tears until that point. I don't know if what I do is technically called sleep anymore. I must sleep at some point because I'll have weird dreams here and there but I get up on average every hour on the hour to go to the bathroom. The last week I really have to go. Last night/early this morning took the cake. I woke up with a start at about 12:45am and had to go pee SOOOOO bad. What I didn't realize in my half asleep-ness was I was also in the middle of a crappy contraction. When I tried to get up as fast as a very pregnant woman can go I must have twisted or pulled something in my back trying to hurry to get to the bathroom (and I barely made it there!!). The rest of the "morning" I tossed and turned in pain and finally got up at 4am and took a bath for an hour before finally coming downstairs and starting the day (which consists of laying on the couch ;) ). I've had some icky back pain the last few days anyway but now I'm really hurting. The bath helped a little and the multitude of couch pillows are helping a bit. I know just relaxing, baths, etc.. will be the only thing that helps. I could take Tylenol but it normally doesn't help so why put something in me for no reason. SO that is my major pain.

The vent continues (sorry and thanks for listening  ). I am so swollen everywhere that I seriously can't even bend my toes back because of swelling in my feet and toes (which look like some very disgusting sausages). My ankles are just huge and crease if I have them bent at all. Along with the swelling my hands are killing me from the pregnancy induced carpel tunnal. My fingertips are numb and the joints just hurt. Thankfully I can still type. Actual writing really hurts. I'm SOOO tired of contracting like a mad woman and going nowhere with dilation. Of course at this point I'm determined to make it to Wedn because that is when my Peri gets back from vacation and I really want him to be the one to deliver. Really I am just tired, I'm hurting (the back pain has really topped it all off), I'm tired of all the contractions, I just am feeling so done. I've definitely hit that wall really hard. I know I just have to make it through today and tomorrow. I'm so thankful my little man's lung maturity test came back good and we can go ahead with the c-section on schedule. I don't know what I would do if it was delayed at this point. I'd probably spend a lot of time in tears. I'm trying to be strong. I am SO thankful to be pregnant and to be having two babies I hate to complain at all. I have just reached that point and feel guilty about griping but I just have to get it out. Any tips on getting through the last 2 days? Thanks for listening if you got through all this

Hang in there, Lisa, you're almost there. I think your feelings are completely normal, the last few weeks are hard and it's completely understandable how you feel. Once you get to Wednesday, you'll wonder where the time went and it will all be a precious memory. Good luck, and hang in there!!

Just reading your post is giving me flashbacks. I only made it to 34 weeks and I was sooooo uncomfortable!! I couldn't wait to get the pregnancy over with. Now that they are here it really does make you forget (until I read posts like yours). I guess it's nature's way of making you want more. Now I find myself missing my pregnancy! Imagine that. You are soooooo close. Hang in there and think of all the twin moms in your shoes. Be thankful for the internet and TS so you can vent!!!! We are here to listen!

First, congratulations for making it this far. I was a raving lunatic in my last few weeks...I just wanted them out of me! The good news is that once they are, you'll feel much better. The swelling goes away miraculously quickly...I remember thinking how skinny I was! The pain goes away too. It's the worst part, but you'll make it through. Good luck...you're almost there!!!

:grouphug: Thanks so much everyone :) I'm SO looking forward to Wedn and I just got a little pick up. The hospital called with all my instructions and I have to be there at 10:30am. Late enough to take my time and get ready without rushing, early enough to not drive me nuts. :) Almost there :)

Vent away! We remember those days! You are almost there! I'm so excited for you! One thing I said when I was pregnant, and it's very true, is that I will get more sleep at night when the babies are here than what I got pregnant.

Hang in there! And I must add, how did you get in the bathtub? I did that once (34ish weeks) and vowed never again. I had problems getting out!

And not to burst your bubble - but my feet/ankles were swollen about 2 weeks after the delivery. As my OB said, "you'll just pee it out."

Congrats on making it this far. Yes, the swelling doesn't automatically go away fast. SO exciting that the day is almost here! :) Can't wait to hear your birth story!

Your "vent" brings back memories! I was so uncomfortable and I only went to 35 weeks 4 days and it was torture. I could not have lasted another day! It was such a relief to have them out of my belly! Good luck on Wed and great job hanging in there for as long as you have!!

This is natures way of making a woman actually look forward to the birthing process! Mind you, I have only ever been that far along with single pregnancies, so I have no idea how you feel. Good luck for Wednesday, you must be so excited!

Haha! I totally agree with this! It really does make the actual labor seem like a piece of cake. I'm sorry you are feeling so bad, but it will be a distant memory in only two days! YAY!!! You have done an awesome job, can't wait to see pics of those baby beans, in just two days!!! Just in time for Thanksgiving. I have a doc appointment at 1030 Wednesday. I'll think of you!!

I am SO excited to see I'll get more sleep after they come!!!!!!!!

Bathtub :D We have a "garden" size tub I believe. It's got a jacuzzi in it so it's just a tad bit bigger. I still get pretty stuck though when I try to turn off the water or get out. It's quite humerous. I wouldn't be able to get out except there is an "elbow" ledge below the top of the tub so I have 2 ledges to use to get up. I thought for sure I'd have to call for DH this morning and I felt bad since it wasn't quite 5am. :D I may be taking another one tonight cause wow I hurt again.

Hoping the feet and ankles go down quickly. I can't wait to walk half way normal again :)

:grouphug: Thanks again everyone :) One more day and 2 more sleepless nights to get through. It will all be worth it. I totally agree with the mother's natures way of looking towards to birth!! :)

 Sorry. :( I'm obviously not there yet, but since the boys will easily weigh 50% more than they do now by the time I'm 36 weeks, I can only imagine ... CONGRATULATIONS on making it this far! That is fabulous, and your babies are getting such a great start in life by being well-baked little turkeys. ;) (OK, don't take that as an insult; just a lame Thanksgiving joke. ;)) Just one more day!! And as the others said, I can't wait to see pics of your little ones!

Thanks for asking :) I'm doing ok. Hanging in there. VERY swollen today for some reason - and starving!! Guess I should eat what I can today. Still hurting. Slept a little better last night. Hoping to do the same tonight. Almost there!!! :)

As I was reading your post, I kept saying: Swollen fingers-Check, Big feet-check, no sleeping-check, bath - No check, I couldn't get in the tub by myself, my legs were too swollen and I couldn't lift them high enough to over the tub. :FIFblush:
Would it be better to spend some time in a recliner at night? I remember DH parked one next to the bed so I woul spend little whiles in bed and others in my recliner, that was "sleeping".
Buth hey, you are almost there, and after a few weeks, you'll look back and will kind of miss being pregnant! (trust me, you will).
Also, get very comfy sleepers for the hospital, you will get even more swollen after the birth, it is only for 2-3 days, then is all smooth sailing.

    Good luck tomorrow! :winking:
