Hey everyone. I saw two episodes of this show last night. Omg, these parents are like freaking out me with bringing twins or multiples home. Is it chaos all the time or TLC just making it like to be more of a drama?

Selective editing I'm sure. Plus they probably select people based on how crazy they can be.

Yeah, I like to watch those shows too. I feel for the ones that have toddlers at home and then bring home multiples. I am glad my daughter is 7 so she can at least entertain herself a bit and help me a little. I am a little scared of what the first few days are going to be like. But....:youcandoit: (we all can)!!

I have video of DH playing with the baby and I'm in the background moaning about how happy I am to be home. It was not chaotic- it was the most peace I'd had in days! I loved being home. It GOT stressful, but the first couple of days our house was clean, had food in it, & clean laundry. (I sent DH home night 3 to get everything ready while we were still in the hospital).

Hey - I survived twins while having my family of 7 live in two camping trailers because our house wasn't ready to live in all while getting two kids starting a new school year! LOL THAT is chaos! LMBO

It is chaotic no matter what, but you find your groove. And I agree - choice editing!

Yeah, the first week is the best. :) They are still sleepy from birth but after that it starts to get crazy. I wouldn't say chaotic but the first few months of twins will be one of the hardest times of your life. I'm not saying that to scare you, just to prepare you and let you know that you will get through it!

For me, the first 4-6 weeks were the absolute worst, but every month has gotten a little better.

So I'd bet also that it was a lot of selective editing but don't want to sugarcoat it for you. For the first few months, having twins sucks to be honest. But you'll get through it. :)

Ugh. I do remember my baby developing a milk intolerance around 6 weeks and crying for hours & crying right along with him all the time feeling guilty that my other baby had to sit in a bouncy seat while I held fussy-pants. I wish I would have had people come out to help right at the 6 week mark. THAT would have been helpful.

Trust me, it's not too bad. I have a 3 year old and 5 week old twins. It was definitely rough the first couple of days with getting everyone on some kind of manageable schedule. But once older DS got used to the new babies he's actually a great help. He'll bring me diapers and wipes or a blanket or burp rag if I ask. He's a great brother! :) Just make sure you let your daughter help out and make her feel like you need her and appreciate her. That will make it easier!

Claire's milk allergy came about at 7 weeks and she cried holy terror as well. Yeah, that wasn't fun and it took us a few weeks to figure it out.

It gets chaotic when you become really sleep deprived-which happens after a week or so, but you will survive!! I promise!
Might I suggest sleeping in shifts...my husband had baby duty from 8pm-1am while I slept, and I had baby duty from 1am-6am-this way we both got 5hours of continuous sleep-the best tip I ever got from TS!!! saved my marriage!!

In the begining the days may seem to last forever but the first year will go by so fast-its weird how that works!!

I agree - a lot of it is either editing or the selection of families. :) I actually think having twins is easier than a singleton in a lot of ways and was thrilled to have a 2nd set. The sleeping issue is the only time it gets a little dicey, but even that's not as big a deal as what I've seen on TV. They lead you to believe that there's always a baby crying all day long and at least in our house that's not the way it is at all.

Is it a new series or was it a one time show?

I just watched for the first time the other day after reading this post and I agree that it is a lot of editing! With the episode I watched, it looked like they set up various senarios to get the maximum effect of the chaos. For example, the family in the episode I watched had 3 yr old triplet boys and were having a set of twin boys. In one segment, the mom took all 5 to the grocery store by herself. While I have taken all 3 of mine to the store when needed, there was no way I was going to do that when the twins were newborns due to all the germs as well as the scheduling limitations. It very much looked like they had set this trip up just to create extra chaos and good tv.
