    My poor girl.

We had just gotten home from my parent's house, celebrating Mother's Day and were getting over tired girls settled in. Let the lab out of his crate and because the Golden hadn't been put on the other side of the gate yet, he decided to jump over the baby gate and join all of us in the living room.

The next thing I know, Ellie is screaming. I hadn't seen how they landed, I was on the other side of the couch with Searra. :( My girls are pretty rugged and usually get over boo boos pretty quickly. I got concerned when she wouldn't calm down and then wouldn't put any weight on that leg. I was afraid she'd gotten a fracture.

So off to the ER we went. They got us in pretty quickly (luckily it wasn't busy) and took xrays. Said they looked good. Splinted her and off we went. Said if she was still limping or in pain after 48 hours follow up with the pedi. Then after we get home, the PA we saw called to let us know that the radiologist reading the films had seen a faint line on one of the views, so definitely follow up with the pedi. Most likely nothing, but still wants us to follow up :(

The poor thing still wouldn't put any weight on it when we got home. And wanted the big bandaid off. Hopefully she won't get through the silk tape I put over the end of the ace wrap to keep it on.

And I gave her Motrin for the first time tonight too. They've always responded well to just tylenol if they needed anything. But thankfully I had the motrin on hand and gave her a dose. Hopefully, she'll sleep all night and feel at least a little better in the am.

Now to try and coordinate time off from work on Tuesday for her follow up. They've always been pretty good about being flexible, so keeping my fingers crossed that they will be with this also. DH has said that he'd take her and my mom has car seats so could take them too, but I feel like I need to go. :(

    Thanks guys.

Still not putting any weight on that leg. Called the pedi to schedule the appt for tomorrow and she just refered me directly to the orthopedic doc.

    We're going in today at 3pm :(

    Thanks for checking in guys.

We got back late and fed the girls dinner...put them to bed...DH and I had a mini "discussion" about the dog (whole 'nother post!) and I ran back out to Target...

Anyway, the poor girl definitely does have a fracture, the doc referred to it as a "Toddler Fracture" and they apparently see them relatively often. She's in an above the knee cast for a month and we'll go back in and get it off then :( Hopefully it'll be fine.

She's fussy and cranky and still won't stand on the leg. The doc said a few more days and she'll be trucking around on it no problem. I really, really hope so. Broke my heart this morning, she just wanted to go outside and play. Even "Between the Lions" couldn't fix it. So we went out on the porch and (luckily) the play house is still right there, so I popped her in through the window onto the little seat and we enjoyed the fresh air for a little while.

I feel so bad for my poor girl.

Big, big, HUGE hugs to you. We had a broken wrist here in the fall and man oh man did it break my heart to see her like that. The doc is right though, once she gets used to it, most of life will be back to normal for her. I'm so sorry you are going through this.
