    My dream highchair:

    -shaped like an exersaucer
-removable tray that can go in the dishwasher
    -machine washable seat pad

    does it exist?

not sure... but I have pictures of me in a low table chair thing as a baby! but no removeable tray.

I think Eddie Bauer? has a bamboo seat thing... here's a link low booster but its not available on several sites. and its not really what you wanted since its a booster seat and not really an exersaucer idea. great idea though!

There is this Super Seat but I don't know if its easily washable. Also our chicco polly highchair has many height adjustments, I found a video on youtubethat demonstrates how low the chair goes at about 1:39 seconds in if you're interested. I really love it and am looking at getting 2 more for the twins (much to hubbys dismay). ;) Also what about the bebe pod plus(which is like a bumbo) it has 2 placemats and a removable toy. Good luck finding something, what a great idea!

The Peg Perego Prima Pappa can be adjusted for height. The tray could probably go in the dishwasher, but it was just as easy for me to wash it by hand. Mine was older, so the newer pads may be machine washable (mine was vinyl and easy to clean). It is NOT shaped like an exersaucer. :)

Thanks ladies. It looks like the chicco would work for what I wanted. I'm trying to avoid a bumbo type seat cause we have hard floor tile in our kitchen and don't want anything that could tip over.

I have heard that the chiccos are hard to clean--is that true?

You could also get a booster like this http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3867646 it attached to your kitchen chair and you would save on space.

With my second daughter I used the fisher price space saver high chair. http://www.amazon.com/Fisher-Price-Space-Saver-High-Chair/dp/B000BXAI08 We had a tiny kitchen and there was no room for our high chair. Since it attaches to a regular chair, it sits lower than standard high chairs. The pad was machine washable and the tray was dishwasher safe, but I used to just wash it by hand because it took up too much room in my dishwasher.

I love my chicco in fact we bought 2 today for the twins so now we have 3 haha. I actually use those lysol wipes to clean my tray after each use if its not too messy and I LOVE the wipe down vinyl pad vs tossing it in the washing machine but I may be in the minority on that one I don't know. We were going to get the fisher price boosters but our table is to thick to fit a booster and still be able to comfortably reach the table top. :(

I had two of the Chicco Polly chairs and HATED them... but maybe it was the build of my kids. I found that the crotch bar stopped at their crotch, but the tray wasn't up against their bellies (mine are skinny, but still...) and therefore food dropped in their laps. I also didn't like how the tray didn't really wrap around their bodies tightly like others and food dropped back by their sides/arms too.

yes, it leans back - but the problem I figured out is that it never sat up fully upright (if it did then the tray might have hit their bellies to help keep the food on the tray), and you can adjust the height... but since you are looking for chairs now that you have babies, I would take them to BRU or whereever and check out the actual chair and see if it fits your kids. I read reviews and got them for my babies shower... and ended up selling them and getting different ones later.

Oh, and the cover says its handwash only, but I did put it in our front loader on a gentle cycle and it came out fine, but it was a pain to get out of the straps and got yucky smelly most of the time...

there are highchairs out there that fit the babies better... so check out those too, most will height adjust like the chicco polly.

    good luck!
