Hello. I am new to this site. I am 21wks 5days with a boy and a girl. This past weeknd I started feeling low abdominal pain. I went to the hospital and it was determined that I had a bladder infection. I was also dehydrated which caused me to go into preterm labor. The contractions were stopped but I am still having the pain. I was also having posterior pelvic pain but that has gone away since this morning. My OB and Perinatologist both agree that the pain I am feeling is due to my pelvic muscles spreading to make room for the twins. They are not concerned because there has been no change in my cervix. Has anyone experienced these symptoms?

Oh, yes! My abdomen hurt severly due to the stretching of the muscles. It was very uncomfortable for me.

It's good to know that I am not alone. I was starting to think both my docs were going nuts. Thanks for the advice!

I'm 20 weeks along and am battling the same thing. I've been really active the past few days trying to finish my christmas shopping and it has been hitting me in the middle of the mall! I did some reading on how to alleviate "round ligament" pain, and mostly it suggests resting. When i'm able to put my feet up for a few minutes it goes away. Like you said, it is the ligaments around the uterus stretching to make more room for the babies. Very painful...some were so bad, I was wondering if they were early contractions! Hope you're able to get some rest, its been hard for me to realize I can't run around like I used to!
