DD/DS have slept with little lovey blankets for a long time, can't go to sleep with out them now which is fine. the problem is that now they think that it is a fun game to wave them at eachother and then throw them on the floor and of course they can't get them back and it makes them cry and makes it much harder for them to fall asleep. i am not going to go in there and give them back the blankie because it would be a matter of seconds before it was back on the floor again... [IMG]at night i do go in after they have fallen asleep and put the blankies back in their cribs so they can find them in the night.

so, i was thinking about attaching them to their clothes/sleepsack with a paci clip. i've never used a paci clip so i don't know if they are ok for babies to sleep with them on or not. what do y'all think?? is it safe? is it even strong enough to hold onto a blankie? would it even work? or should i just wait for the phase to pass, as i'm sure it will....

I would think they could pull the clips off...

I also think that they would pull them off, and then throw those at each other!

that's what i was afraid of... i guess they will just have to learn not to toss them on the floor.. oh fun for me!!!!

I use the pacifier clips for pacis at night... and yes they do get them off sometimes... but for the most part they stay on all night. I think its a good idea to try. the clips we have are the Mam ones w/velcro on one end and the slide clip on the other.

I do think the phase will pass... its pretty cute though, huh? but like you said not very useful for falling asleep. most of the time ours will finally go to sleep, but its funny to come in after a nap and see all the blankies and little stuffed animals on the ground!

I think they will pull them off, too. Mine pull the clips off very easily. I don't let my LOs sleep with the clips because I'm afraid if the clip broke, it could be a choking hazard. We have the Mam clips.

I imagine they could pull of the clips, too. I think it's a phase that will pass (although not a very fun phase for mommy!).

Both the clip and the string could be a choking hazard; I definitely wouldn't let them sleep with paci clips. I would just avoid giving the loveys back if they throw them out of the crib; hopefully eventually they'll learn to hold on to them!

they are still tossing blankies but my makeshift solution was to put a bigger blanket that feels the same, fuzzy with satin trim, that is much more difficult for them to throw out. that way once the lovey ends up on the floor they still have a cuddly blanket to snuggle. they aren't crazy about it but it has been working so far.... it is just a baby sized blanket, not a big one, so i feel ok about them sleeping with it.

thanks for your thought ladies! [IMG]
