my LO's love sleeping with their loveys. however, they are always draping them over their entire faces.
my DH gets so nervous that he takes them away from them once they fall asleep. should i not let them sleep with them? are they past the age where it's ok?

My DD always slept with her lovey over her face and still does. I don't know why she prefers this, but I actually lay it across her face now when I lay her down. :pardon: I never took it away, just let her do it. I asked my pedi because she also liked to lay with her face smashed down in the mattress and she told me not to worry about it - that she could breathe.

I wouldn't worry about it. Sometimes mine did this and I would move it off their face, but I don't think it's a big concern.

My DS does it too. His is like a 5 inch square blanket, so I didn't really worry about it. I can't remember the age we started giving it to him though.

Mine do it too. I usually just put it over their eyes and forhead, so they can breathe, but it ends up over their face. I don't worry about too much when they have their pacifiers but if I see it I do move it off their nose and mouth.

Once they have the strength to turn their head, they are fine. They won't suffocate if they do have trouble breathing, they'll just turn their head or pull it off their face.

Both of mine do this as soon as I give them their loveys. It is fine because it is lightweight and they can turn their head if they need to. My DS also rolls over and has his face smashed into the mattress or the crib bumpers almost every night. That makes me a little nervous but not enough to move him because if he wakes up when we move him he will FLIP out!

Both of my babies sleep with their faces covered. DS pulls his blanket over his face (its a crocheted blanket so it has holes, so I don't worry..) but DD smashes her face into the mattress. LOL!! Her doc said the same, that she can breathe fine and since she's way old enough she can turn her head if she feels like she's not getting enough air. :)

I wouldn't worry about it if they can turn their heads just fine and roll over, etc. Whatever makes them comfy and sleep better. :D

Eve always does that. She either covers her face with the blanket or smooshes her face into the bumper and pulls that over her face. It used to nearly give me a heart attack but it doesn't bother me anymore.

Lia also smooshes her face into the mattress.
