One of my boys loves to drink. He will drink about 24 ounces of milk a day and it does not affect his appetite at all. He loves water bottles and sippie cups and anything that has a straw. If his brother drops his sippee cup, he will pick it up and drink that too. Is this just a phase??

haha, my ds is the same way exactly!! He loves to just guzzle water and juice....they don't drink as much milk as they did when they were your boy's age...mostly just with cereal in the mornings and sometimes I will give them some at lunch or dinner. But he loves drinking water from a water bottle...he seems to never be satisfied!! LOL!!

I don't know if it's just a phase...I am pretty thirsty, too...I like lots of water with my meals and I am a juice-a-holic!

It could also be the weather, where we live that plays a factor (obviously not with you!!) where it's cold and kindda dry...they might they thirsty more. For you, it might be the heat?? I don't know...

Anytime there is excessive thirst, you should probably mention that to the pediatrician. However, if it's just a matter of using the sippy or water bottle or cup for drinks, mine do that too. They'll both pick up each other's, but I think it's just because the other one had it and they have to have what somebody else had.

I am not sure I would call it excessive thirst since its not like he is crying unless I give him a drink. I was just wondering if there is some sort of fascination with liquids that others might have experienced as well.

Rachel, my kids have always been big drinkers. My older kids still are, and so am I!
