Ok, here it goes I can't believe they are here safe and sound. So I had decided on an induction and things really didn't go the way I thought they would. I went into L&D on Thursday morning at 6:00am I was completely closed and only 50% effaced. They started the pitocin at 6:30 and started monitoring the babies. The boys were very wound up and would not trace so they were unable to increase the Pit without good tracings. So it was a very slow morning. The nurse who started everything said that I was one cm so when the doctor came in around 11:00 she was going to try and break my water to speed things up, but when she checked me I was actually still closed. They gave me some pain meds and cranked the Pit and when the doctor came back at 4:00 I was still completely closed, so we decided to try for another two hours and then I could decide what to do. My options were either us cervadil and wait overnight and restart in the morning or do a c/s around 9:00 pm. So they came in and gave me an epidural around 6:30 because by that point I was dying and thinking I was going to probably go with the c/s. I felt great after that but by 8:00 I was only 1/2 cm dialated, so we decided to to the section. They took me in at 9:35 and got me ready and then brought DH in. James Jeffery Baron arrived crying only briefly (to let mom know he was ok) at 9:49pm and was followed a minute later at 9:50 by his brother Jack Michael Baron. James peed all over dad while they were weighing him in at 5lbs 15oz 18 in long, and Jack made up in length what his brother stole in weight at 5lbs 11oz and 18 1/2 inches long. They are the most handsome little guys I have ever seen and I would do it a thousand more times. Dad cut thier cords while mom got closed up and he was able to sit with them next to me while they finished the surgery. There was definitely only one placenta and they look more and more alike each day. The recovery really has not been a picnic, my epi worked alot better on one side than the other so I had some severe break through pain in my recovery area, but the boys did great not one minute in the NICU (37 weeks exactly) and scored 9/10 on apgars because thier hands and feet were a little blue. They roomed with us most of the time but I sent them to the nursery at night so I could rest. We are all at home now adjusting fairly well although the breast feeding has been a little rough because my milk just came in today. I would not change anything about the birth but I do have to say that I kind of underestimated the c/s, it definitely is major surgery and I can see why people try for vaginal, but at the same time I was so happy to have them arrive fast and safe. Good Luck to all those about to deliver, try not to be fearful it won't matter how it happens when you have those little ones in your arms. Love you all and thank you for all the support. :hug99:

My two were the exact same sizes as yours!! Except the longer one matched with the heavier weight!! Sorry you wound up with the c/s..sounds like you have a good attitude about it though. My c/s recovery wasn't the greatest, but neither was my vag delivery of my 8lb dd...if that makes you feel any better.... My milk took a really long time to come in with my older dd... I never did have enough milk for her. It was better with my twins, but still not enough for both of them... I did find that eating oatmeal and taking fenugreek helped to pump up my supply. Hope things work out for you better in this dept...but remember what you feed your babies is not a reflection on your performance as a mother... you are MOMMY... your kids will never remember what you fed them... do your best...accept your limitations....and don't beat yourself up over things that are out of your control!! Just thought I would throw that in there. For my bf was and always has been a tender spot in my heart.... I was severely blue with my first dd over my "failure" and I was determined with my twins to not let my bf experience, regardless of success or failure, bog down my enjoyment of my little ones.... The time you have when they are little is far too precious to waste feeling blue over how you wind up feeding them... In the end with my twins, one completely quit on me at 7 weeks...she just refused, flat out to nurse anymore... and the other got transitioned to completely ebf.... which was good b/c he had really bad reflux on formula... Anyway, you just never know. Even my mom, who had gobs and gobs of milk, wound up switching me and my id. twin off and on between bottle and bf.... So no matter what you do, know that you are doing a great job...them even getting a little bit of milk for the first 2 weeks puts them way ahead in the game...after that, according to the peds anyway, it's fairly equal between bm and formula... Congratulations...hope you have a healthy and happy pp experience!!

They look great! You did such a good job. Have fun and good luck with the breastfeeding. I had a hard time the first two weeks with the breastfeeding (my girls lost a lot of weight, my hormones were flying (I've found out crying is pretty normal when you are breastfeeding - even if you aren't a cryer)), but it's getting better now in the third week -- just an encouraging voice if you need it.
