Love the counting!

So, we have a few books we read daily that have counting in them (I always count up to the 4 alligators or 5 roly-poly pandas or whatever). Never seemed to really sink in.

Last night, DS1 started counting his peas. I heard clearly "uhn, ooo, eee, fuh, ive" after that, I thought he went to eight, nine, but then, a few numbers later I heard a distinct "nine", so I think I just mis understood. I was so excited!!

Of course, he doesn't really get "counting"...he randomly moves the peas as he calls out the numbers, so he might be saying "four" but have 2 peas in front of him. Still, baby steps!! So excited!!

 

My boys ditched theirs FINALLY a few months ago. It was screaming hysterics without them and it was so HARD and I just kept giving in. I was at my wits end so I did something that probably a few moms wouldn't but I found pictures of rotten ugly teeth on the internet and showed them and told them if they didn't get rid of their paci's their teeth would look like that. They ditched them and haven't even mentioned them since!!

I love it when they count. Alice grabs my ears and counts my earrings. . .one,too,fee,foh,fie,six,se'en,ayt,nine,teh. Even though I only have 9.

 

Counting is really cute! With my boys everything is 10. Like how many ears does mommy have? They say 1..2..all the way up to 10 for everything!LOL

Isn't it cute? I love it that mine are starting to spell words now (cat, mom, dog...nothing elaborate at all), so you have that to look forward to as well!

 

I love each and every one of these developmental steps! SO exciting. :banana: Yay, Drew!!

 

Oh yeah! It's so coo! Even when they count up to 13 fingers or whatever. :lol:
