This book caught my attention and I'm wondering if anyone has read it and if it's worth the read?

    Alternatives?

I'm not interested in it for any one particular issue, but just as an overall reference.

ABSOLUTELY! I love this parenting philosophy so much. It's what I strive to be. I don't think you will be disappointed.

I love L & L for use in the classroom. I imagine it's great for parenting, as well.

We do love and logic. I have this book - I love it! The philosophy is not a quick fix or "trick". It is foundational and takes practicing. And some who are more visual learners get a lot out of taking a love and logic class. It is based on empathy...which many parenting philosophies these days are. It is a great way to build self-esteem and self-control. It empowers the child. That being said, it really does take practice like any strategy that is foreign to the way we grew up. :) Like any of these methodologies, it is important to start early. We used this from 14 mos on...even though we could have started sooner. We are seeing amazing results now as far as communication and behavior. Sure we go through phases, but consistency is key. Good luck with whatever you choose.

I think I'll get a copy and see what I think of it. Thanks!
