Me again... I've been having LOTS of Braxton Hicks contractions over the past two weeks starting around 14 weeks. Should I be concerned about this??? I don't remember noticing them until my third trimester with my singleton daughter.
They are really strong and can make me short of breath but they don't hurt.

It's very possibly nothing, but I would have your doctor check to make sure you aren't having cervical changes. I was having a lot of them and learned I do have a shortened cervix. It's possible the cervix problems were because of my very active job, but I don't know that for sure. So, my advice is: Don't panic, but do get yourself checked out. I hope they are simply an annoyance and nothing more.

I agree that you should have it checked out, just to be on the safe side.

Definitely call your OB and let them know that you are having "alot." But I just wanted to let you know that I didnt really have many even in the third trimester with my first singleton and they started coming on at 16 weeks with my twins. I had them a lot. Some days I had none and some days I was timing them. Just wanted you to be prepared to have them the whole time. Congrats on your twins.

ditto on the pp... I got them in all three of my pgs starting around 16 weeks..they never affected my cervix.... drink lots of water, put your feet up, pee frequently enough....these things help, but might not completely eliminate them.

Thanks - yeah, I've noticed that they are a lot worse if I am on my feet and have not had enough water. I'll talk to my OB next week though just to be on the safe side!

    THanks again,
    :)

I started having them very early this pregnancy too. I get very regular U/S to check my cervical length which is so far behaving. I have a prescription for Brethine as needed. I guess with twins your uterus gets stretched and pulled so much more and can be very irritated, but do make sure that your Dr. is keeping a close eye on it.

I have had them quite a bit since I was about 26 weeks. Some days I have alot and other I have one or two. My cervix is a little short but that could just be natural...the peri couldn't say if it was from the BH contractions or not. So I would get checked out at your next appointment to be sure, or call your ob if you are concerned. And like everyone else said drink alot of water all day long and rest when you start to notice you are having quite a few of them.
