After bath time this morning, as I'm slapping some lotion on my now 3 feet tall munchkins, I was wondering when everyone stopped doing this after bath. I have dry, sensitive skin, so I have always lotioned myself after bathing, so it just came natural to continue doing it for the girls. But I can't imagine doing it all the time. Do you?

    I should but I don't

I ran out of patience when they got bigger. Bathtime takes so long with hair washing, teeth brushing, drying, dressing, ect. that I am usually glad when I put the jammies on and they are done.

I was just thinking about this the other day ... Mine are going to be 2 in 2 weeks, and we still lotion after every bath time ... I don't see me stopping anytime soon ... but then I'm like "Am I weird? Does anyone else do this??"

I was thinking about posting this same thing the other day. We still put lotion on DS after bath time and don't plan on stopping anytime soon--he will be 4 in July. He can do some of it himself. So, I guess we will gradually let him take over and then do the same for the girls. :pardon:

Lotion? You are supposed to lotion after a bath?

My girls like it and like to rub it in themselves so I doubt we will stop anytime soon!

I still do it for myself too!

We never use lotion, though when my mom baths them she always uses it. Thier skin is fine, if it were dry and cracking I would use some

I still put lotion on my 3.5 year olds. Their skin is fine without it.. but.. just habit I guess.

I do occasionally. I, too, just run out of patience.

We live in a really dry climate, so we still do coconut oil after every bath. I think around 3 I started having them help me. I put some in their hands and they rub it on. I also hit any spots that seem extra dry or that they can't reach and I always put a little extra on any scabs they might have.

I don't do it after every bath, just as needed.

I try to do it all the time (mine are 3.5), but sometimes we forget. They definitely still need it though, especially in the winter.

ETA: They do enjoy rubbing it in themselves -- though they also complain that it's cold.

That's pretty much what we do. :good: Tony needs it much more then Angie during the winter.

Mine will be four in July and we STILL lotion every single night. I know I feel better when I put lotion on after bathing, so I keep doing it. Plus, I think we all like the smell and it's relaxing. I also still put vasoline on their faces before bedtime, too. I call it their spa treatment!

LOL...that's what I was thinking, too! My kids love to put their own lotion on. Only if it's bad do I ever do it.

Same here. A bath here is not complete without the lotion!

The girls do "help" us on occasion. I guess I will keep it up for a while. I don't mind doing it at all, I was just curious. Thanks for sharing!!

We did it to our girls until they were about 4 especially my one daughter since she has dry rough skin (dr said eczema). My son also has skin problems no eczema but something else so we do it after every bath. Also before bed even if he didn't have a bath or while changing his diaper if he is really bad.

I have to, even though I'm so over it!

I skip lotion with Nadia occasionally, especially if it's late and she's horsing around, and I just need to get her in bed. But inevitably, she's scratching the next day and complaining that she's itchy.

My little ones have eczema flare-ups if I skip it even once. But sometimes it's the last thing I want to be doing, when they're squirming and running away from me....

After every bath here... it is part of the routine.

I like the way it smells and I just think its a good habit to get into.

We do after every bath and should on non-bath nights. Our LO's have eczema so we slather on so much Eucerin they look like they've been buttered, and if we skip it even once they're scratching themselves bloody. It really stinks.
