I am 23 weeks pregnant with twins and my husband and I are miles apart on names. He loves traditional top ten names and that is not my preference. I would appreciate your opinions on the names I like. Here they are:

    For two girls:
    Ezra and Ireland
    Nadia and Natalia

    For two boys:
    Ezra and Micah
    Micah and Elisha

    For boy/girl:
    Ezra(girl) and Micah
    Nadia and Aidan

    Thanks for your opinions, Lydia

The only one I dont really care for is Ezra for a girl. It is very masculine to me as I have only heard it for a boy.
    Love Ireland.
    Other possibilities with Ireland
    Ivy
    Isabelle
    Ilene
    Irene
    Isadore
    Eleanor
    Evelyn
    Emma
    Elsa
    Estelle
    Eugenie (not my fav)
    Ester

Nadia and Natalia are cute together. I like

Micah and Aiden would be my first choice for boys with Micah and Ezra second.

Maybe if you put your husbands choices together with your names and use his as middle names would be a nice compromise

I also don't like Erza for a girl.

Niether do I like Elisha for a boy. Too close to Alicia, too girly.

With twins you can always do the you pick one name, I pick the other with your husband. That's what we did. But we did have a couple of rules, 1)If we hated the other's choice we could veto it. 2) in our case we wanted names that were pronounced the same or almost the same in English and Spanish, since we speak those two langauges. And of course you could lobby.

Oddly enough, I like Micah for a girl.

Hang in there, I'm having the same problems with names. I want family names and my DH is against them 100% :pardon: We all seem to get there in the end though. :hug99:

I love Nadia and Aidan because they're twin-y (palindromic) but not over the top cutesy.
I also have a hard time imagining Ezra for a girl.
For boys, what about Ezra and Elijah?
I also like the suggestion of using one name you like and one your husband likes, or you can each pick a first and middle name. Many of the top 10 names would go well with your choices (Madelyn Natalia, Ireland Emma, Micah Jacob)

I know you wanted us to vote on the names you have chosen but your name Ireland reminded me of my friend Ailen (sounds like Island without the d at the end). Thought maybe you'd like it.

I like all the names, but Ezra.

Ezra is all boy, and in my opinion is too masculine to be one of those crossover, unisex names. Sorry.

Elisha ... how are you pronouncing this? If I saw this, I would immediately think girl, E-Lish-A. If the pronouciation is closer to E-lye-sha, I'd go with Elijah. Nice name.

Nadia is very pretty, as is Natalia although I prefer Natalie (not as fussy). I really Nadia and Aidan for B/G twins since they are palindromes and also great names individually. I also like the name Micah from your list. Irelyn is just not my style, but it's an okay name.

You said your DH likes "top ten" names ... what are some of the names he has chosen, if any? Maybe we can suggest some good compromises!

    Good luck!

    Hello again,
Thank you very much for your opinions. While I still haven't changed my mind on the names I like, I have been considering others. However, here are my husband's choices:

Gabrielle and Isabella (Gabi and Issy)

Arthur and Foster (after his grandfather and father)

I believe we have agreed on Nadia and Aidan for a girl/boy combo. What do you think of his choice of names? We also both like the name Finn for a boy. Thanks for all your responses. Lydia

Foster and Finn (Finnegan) are cute for B/B ... personally I love this combination!
Isabella and Ireland would be cute for G/G

and I like Nadia and Adian for G/B
