Went on a weeks holiday - the twins stayed with G'ma and G'pa for the week. Apparently they slept through the night and were really good.

DH has been home until this morning, 2 days, and as soon as he left ALL H*LL BROKE LOOSE.
They haven't slept through ONE NIGHT for me. This morning DH let me go back to bed coz I was up half the night with Lacey, and I didn't hear a peep put of them - as soon as I got up they were whining and sooking to sit on me etc. Even had DH shaking his head because he said they were little angels for him.

    WHAT AM I DOING WRONG????????

I cant take the crying anymore, and I am sobbing as I am typing this, I cant MOVE without them crying.
They were like this before I left......which is why I needed the holiday. I just dont know what to do anymore.

Anyone know why they are so naughty for me?
    help

I have learned - they perform for others, they wait till they are with us to "let their hair down". This doesn't mean they don't love us. It means they feel the most comfortable with us and know it is safe to let out their stress they have held in for so long.

Dh once described it as "YOU are the floor she walks on." As if she doesn't even know I am a person, I am so essentail as a part of her life, she thinks of me as an extention of her.

    They do love you....Dearly!

 I'm not sure. That's really puzzling. Can you give us more details, like they do this after that? Sorry to answer a question with a question  .

Sounds like they REALLY like you. :D Seriously though, they are going through an attachment phase and it is very common at 9 months old. It will get better. Give them a hug and tell them you are not leaving them but continue to go about your business. They will eventually get better but there will be crying until it does. I know it's not easy but it is a phase.

 I am so sorry. I know that has to be so frustrating.

We have recently started having bedtimes isses here, too. When I put the boys down to bed they turn on the biggest wattage smiles, however, the second they realize that I am backing away and will be leaving they throw a tantrum and keep it up for a while after I leave. It's heartbreaking. However, if I snuggle with them, kiss them goodnight, then hand them over to DH to actually physically put in their cribs they crawl over to the back of their cribs where they can see each other and talk for a few minutes and then lay down and go straight to sleep. I am still trying to figure out why they are okay with him leaving, and not me. I am glad they love me, and miss me when I am out of sight, but they really have to get over this.

Oh my goodness I am totally hijacking the thread here....BUT WOW!!!!

A huge light bulb just went off for me reading this. I didn't get it until now. My girls TOTALLY do this. And now I am the only one who can get both to take their bottles (oh great!)

Anyway, thanks op for this post. Hopefully this is why they are crying!

I get this too!! My nanny puts the babies down to sleep and they roll over and quietly go to sleep, but when I put the babies down they cry as they watch me leave the room! So I have to listen to some crying. I was beginning to feel like a mom-failure - everyone can put the babies down and they quietly go to sleep - except me! Thanks for posting this, I like knowing I am not alone!

I think it is b/c you are the mommy. They want you, plain and simple. Try not to give into all the fussing or it will make the habbit even worse. GL
