We are having the kids 5th birthday party at Chuck E Cheese and I will providing drinks/pizza/token for 10 kids (5 each). I always have such a hard time with the loot bags. I personally don't like receiving them because they are usually filled with junk. Any suggestions on usefull loot bag items?

How about some glo sticks? Those always seem to be a big hit.

I would set a rule that they are not to be opened till they go home. Small bubbles, a candy bar, a matchbox car for boys, a necklace for girls, tokens for a return trip to CEC.

Some things I have done in the past were those things in gift bags or I got straw sip cups at the dollar store and filled those with candy or a toy

We were just at CEC yesterday and they had some loot bags already prepared that were plastic pencil cases. I didn't scour the contents (I didn't buy them for my children but they were selling them at the door) but the bags seemed kind of cute, maybe a possibility?

When we did a birthday party at CEC, we did purchase theirs, they really weren't too expensive. This year I went to Party City and they have loot bag sets which are 8 sets for $9.99, and were pretty decent stuff, like a pencil, activity sheet and game. They have them for all different types of themes, so you could get some that appeal to the boys and some for the girls.

Just call me overly practical, but I would look at using some of the cheap school supplies. Maybe a couple of pencils, a glue stick, a sheet of stickers, a box of crayons and a little memo pad. My kids would be thrilled with that.
