Looking to buy investment property (AirBnB / Vrbo)

    In the market to buy an investment property near a golf centric area.



    My initial thoughts are:

    1. At least a 2/1 with less than 30 min drive to >3 A level (Top Tier) courses
    2. At least a 2/1 with less than 30 min drive to top 25 Course


    I am open anywhere in the country really.



    I play a good amount too and this would also be an area I plan on planning 10-14 days a year.

    I see it's been a while since this thread was active, but I just wanted to ask if anyone has had luck recently with short-term rentals given all the changing rules in some cities? I've been thinking about a place near a ski town but unsure if it's better to go short-term or find a long-term tenant. Would love to hear how things are working out now compared to a few years ago.

    I ended up using Bridge loans to land my first short-term rental before selling my other place. It gave me the flexibility to secure the property fast without waiting on the sale. The rates were higher, but it worked out because I got a good deal on the house. Just make sure you’ve got a solid plan to refinance or sell within the loan term—they’re usually short.
