Okay first off, I realize many mothers of twins do dress them alike while other may feel that's not their style.........it goes without saying that we are all different and have different likes/dislikes.

I know many name their twins with names starting with the same letter while others wouldn't do such a thing. Personally, I think it's kind of neat, hence the reason we are 'thinking' of naming our identical boys the following......I did make a post a while back asking for feedback so I apologize somewhat for the double post........but this time I want 'honestly'...if you think it's over the top, too confusing, will the boys hate me, or does it have a nice ring and flow to it if naming your children with the same letter if your style......

We are expecting identical boys on July 14th....

    Proposed names are
    Trevor Micheal & Tyler Edward

4yr old boy named Tanner Joseph

So it would be Tanner, Trevor, and Tyler.

I know it's nothing original, unique or anything of the like........just a couple of names we decided upon. The middle names have meanings as they are named after family members. Our last name is Beach if that helps........

Any feedback is appreciated....good or bad... :)

    Thanks in advance.

Not my style all names starting with the same initial.

I do think all three are very nice names. I think they sound good together and am glad to see they will have different middle initials.

I like that the names you have chosen do not rhyme. I think it would be too much to rhyme & start with the same initial.

Most importantly you like the names. If it makes you & DH happy, then go for it!

I think those names are nice, strong names. Honestly, when I read the title of the thread I was thinking the names were going to be some weird, out there names!

My husband's cousin has an older child named Tyler, and her twins are named Tanner and Trey. I like Tanner, Trevor, and Tyler.

I'm not a fan of twin names that start with the same letter or rhyme or anything like that. However, the names you've picked are nice ones and go quite well together without being too matchy-matchy. My big test is whether you can call one without the other jumping because he thinks he's being called. And with Trevor and Tyler I think you probably could because of the 'r' sound in Trevor which makes the names distinguishable from the first syllable.

So, in total honesty, I think Trevor and Tyler are a good pick.

I couldn't have said it better. Good names. One argument I've heard against naming them with the same letter is that you always call them the wrong name, but I have two different names from different areas of the ABCs and I still call one by the other's name and can't decide who I am trying to talk to.

Thanks so much for the replies........it doesn't appear it caused too many red flags based on everyones response.....

So maybe we can finalize one portion of the pregnancy, the names, and begin focusing on the next area........The nursery, what minivan to buy, and most importantly.........doing whatever possible to make sure the babies are healthy!!

Thanks again and have a wonderful rest of your weekend!!

I'm also not big on same first initials or on matchy matchy, but I think you did a fabulous job of picking names that are "different" enough that they aren't matchy matchy! And the three boys names sound adorable together!

I love the names! I think they sound good together and with your older son's too!!

When we were trying to name our girls, we picked Addison but could not come up with another name that began with an a that we liked - so we ventured to other letters - in the hospital my dh mentioned Ava and I am SO glad he did!! I LOVE that their names start with the same letter! we get so many compliments!

If you want total honesty.......it doesn't really bother me they start with the same letter as, like other people have pointed out, they sound quite different. However, Trevor stands out as the odd one out to me as Tanner and Tyler are quite modern names, whereas I know Trevors that are 70+ years old. Travis is another old name but has had a bit of comeback (in Australia at least) lately, have you condsidered it?

Good names. My only little nit-picking comment would be that they all have the same last letter/sound too.

I like the names and I'm also glad to see they will have different intials, that's where the problem arises in that they have the same birth date so if their intials are the same insurance and credit companies will get them confused. I also like that your older son will have a family connection to the twins with his T name and not feel left out.
