I've called every where I know around this town and can not find anything for toddlers to do. I've even contacted my local YMCA to see if they offer anything from "mama and me" or anything "tot time" or anything. NO GO!

Can any of you give me info on things that your town might offer that I could look into as far as trying to get started at my local Y?

    Activities
    Cost
    Parent/Child things
    Child only things
Im looking for anything to get them involved in.

I did find one dance/baton/cheerleading studio that has a tumbling class for 2y/o. I've registered them for the fall session. I know they are boys.... LOL but I've got to get them away from me at some point. They dont know anything else other than immediate family and are skittish about other people and such. I want them to be able to enjoy other kids and get used to having to listen and behave for other people.

Anyway, any help and ALL info that could help me get something started would be greatly appreciated!!!!

    TIA

How about the Parks and Rec dept or the library?

We take a class that is run through the adult education center of our local school district. It is once a week, for three hours. It costs $15 for a trimester, so we pay three times a year (summer's off). It is the best deal around!

We have also taken classes through the city and local community college.

    Check your local school district.

I didn't know this until this year but in my district they have a program called Come Play with Me that is one day a week and you attend with your child.

It is offered from 18 months to 4yrs of age. The older kids class is 2 hours long. The younger kids class time is 1-1.5 hours long.

We do a "Music Together" class, which I love, but it is pretty pricey ($240/ 9 week session for the two of them). We also do a gymnastics class . . . absolutely no reason why boys shouldn't do tumbling - at this age it's just a great way for them to run around and work on coordination and play with other kids (anyways, have you ever taken a look at the physique of a male gymnast? Something every boy should strive for . . .)

You can go HERE to find a Music Together class near you. There is also a similar program called Kindermusic, which you could also look into.

Our problem is that none of these classes meet during the summer . . .

    Good luck!

We did swim classes at a local P&R pool (daddy had to come though). Library's usually have some kind of kids reading get together. Our favorite place is the Phoenix Zoo they have some thing called Toddler Time there which we have attended a few times, we are members to the zoo so was no admission, just $16 per kid bonus got to hang out at the zoo after.

I was going to suggest the local library as well. The library by me even has an online schedule of all kinds of really great activities. It tells you what age group it's appropriate for and a small description of the class. I haven't done it yet but will look into it for the fall.
