Does anyone have a good trick or device to prevent your toddler's head from slumping forward and/or to the side when they fall asleep in the car. We're going on a long road trip last month and I want DS to be comfortable. He's in a forward facing toddler seat.

We tilted the carseat back a bit, so he was semi-reclining. You would have to check yours to see about the weight limits on your seat. We also got him a travel pillow.

I second the 'travel pillow' idea. You can also make one with filling 2 tube socks w/ cotton or soft fabric, tying them off or sewing them up and then taking a piece of cloth and tying the middle of them together (it will look kind of like an 'x').

my DS does this all the time if i dont use a travel pillow in the car. so i would second a travel pillow. BRU has them and one step ahead has bigger ones. so comfy

We've gone on tons of car trips and honestly, it was more work and they got less sleep when we'd try to fix their heads than if we just left them alone. Kids are flexible and the slumping head thing has never seemed to bother any of our three. Have a great trip!

Great idea about the travel pillow! My twins slump all the time too, dd's head almost touches her legs when she sleeps..really doesnt look safe for her neck..

we travel often to see family and we just tipped their carseats back a little bit. It doesn't completely keep them from tipping to the sides and sometimes they fall forward but most often their heads are back.
