About a month ago I was praying that these guys would eventually sleep past 45 minutes. Well, now we seem to have the exact opposite going on  . I put them down at 9:00am and they sleep for about an hour and then begin to wake up, but then they actually put themselves back to sleep for another hour! I see them with their eyes open and banging their legs around, but I've resisted going in and getting them for a few minutes and they go back to sleep (no crying)!

They're now taking two 2hr+ naps most days. I'm assuming this is normal and healthy, but of course there's always that little voice saying "is this ok"? I feel almost guilty for all this napping. Please tell me I'm not being neglectful by letting them put themselves back to sleep. If they were really ready to end their nap they would, right?

Mine do the same, however, one usually takes a long nap in the morning and the other in the afternoon. I sa take advantage of it. I love mine to death, but lately if they don't get good naps they are crabby and nothing soothes them.

No you are not neglecting them. Babies need their sleep to be happy babies. Mine do the same thing with waking up and going back on their own. You will find out now that if they don't do that, they will be fussy. Enjoy the quiet time because I have a feeling that we will be in for some crazy days ahead of us! Ours are about the same age!

We normally nap 2 hours in the am from 9 - 11 (but this week they decided 20 minutes is plenty!)
