i am having a very difficult time finding shirts that fit. nothing is long enough to cover my belly and when i go up in sizes, things look like tents and still dont cover my belly.

any ideas? i would like to get some tanks/t's to get me through the rest of this pregnancy.

I had the most luck at Walmart with t-shirts. They never did have the best selection of colors, but the shirts did their job, didn't look to bad and were cheap. :good:

I am typically wearing a long white T-shirt under my maternity shirts just to make sure I am covered. I haven't bought but like 2 shirts new.. the rest I have been blessed to find at consignment sales or shops.

I have bought several tank tops from Old Navy MAternity online. They are very thin and long. they come down about 3 inches past my maternity shirts. I always wear them under my shirts.

I'm curious too! I'm not worried about covering my belly. I actually just want a shirt to cover my bum fully. I always carry a ton of weight in my bum while I am pregnant. Looking forward to what everyone writes.

I havent tried it, but you can look into the bellaband

Basically a band that you wear on top of your waistband to hide that tummy which would stick out

I have a Bella Band and while it worked great for my first pregnancy and the first trimester of this pregnancy, I grew out of it pretty quick. It became very tight and uncomfortable and I'm not sure going up a size would've helped enough. I did see that Target carries a version of this now, too. You might want to look there if you are interested, as the Bellas were pretty expensive, IMO.

You're right, tho. NOTHING is designed for women...um...our size. :( I have some mens' XLT shirts (and even some XXLT) for slopping around the house and sleeping in. Other than that, I'm extremely grateful that I'm an avid garment sewer. I'm having to alter maternity patterns to get me looking presentable enough to leave the house in these last couple months.

I found the gap tanks are long enough to cover. I only made it to 29 weeks, but I was measuring 39 when I delivered.

OMG, you MUST order a wrap-around top from this ebay store. They're copies of another more expensive line and they're awesome! They're perfect for people (like me) who have long torsos and need long tops. It will fit you for your entire pregnancy!

I found some of the Liz Lange Target shirts are long and I can still wear those - more the cotton ones.
I also bought a few mens t-shirts and have some of DH's sweaters that he was getting rid of.

In one of my books, it actually recommends looking at plus sized shirts instead of maternity because they are longer but I haven't gone that route.
