Lola Rae is here!

This is a little anti-climactic since she's already 12 days old..but what can I say! Here's the story...

After dropping Ava, Bella, and Jax off at daycare and taking my last belly shot (ever ) we went to the hospital around 11 am on Wed. 4/2 for the scheduled c/s. I'd forgotten how surreal it is waking up one morning and knowing that you are about to have a baby!

Once we were at the hospital things went really quickly. They hooked me up to the fetal monitors, started my i.v. and then we waited just a few minutes before heading to the OR. The epidural was great, and my anesthesiologist was so nice. They started the c/s right at 12:30, and Lola Rae was born at 12:49. She weighed 7lbs 11oz. and was 19 inches long. She has a head full of very dark hair. She was (is) perfect, but she worried me at first because she just wasn't crying all that much. DH kept reassuring me that everything was fine. He kept going over to her to check on her and my dr. joked that my husband had just fallen in love with another woman! She really was fine, she just wasn't a cryer... YET! She made up for that during that night because she was awake and CRYING for about 3 hours straight!

Overall, my c/s went great and I'm recovering really well. I took the paid medication for the first 3-4 days after coming home, but I'm feeling 90% back to normal. Lola is nursing great now, although she was pretty impatient with me while we were in the hospital. She wanted the milk to gush out right from the beginning! She's eating about every 3 hours now, and considering we're nursing, I think that's pretty great.

Ava, Bella, and Jax have done really well in beginning to adjust. The first day we were all home together was rough. I cried about 3 times in an hour! Jax couldn't understand why I wouldn't pick him up and the girls were so cranky. Since then, they've all done really well. I won't lie and say that it's not overwhelming at times, but we're all adjusting well to our new family. We feel so blessed.

It will be hard for Jax in the beginning... it was hard for mine (still is some days) and I almost never picked them up anymore anyways! It must be very difficult to understand when you are that little. I am sure you guys will do great though, and Jax will love being a big brother soon enough!

YAY!!!! I agree, nothing is anti-clamatic about a birth...YOU GOT A NEW BABY...that's climactic!!! LOL!! I'm so glad that things went well and you are feeling great! The kids will adjust, it's hard at first, but they will...trust me!!! Mine are to the point where they want to hold the baby all the time, put her paci in her mouth (even though she doesn't want it...lol) and get me bottles, unfold her diapers, etc. They are really sweet now! Hang in there!!! I'm glad your recovery is going well, that is so good to hear!!!! Can't wait to see pics...you have to post your last belly pic too!
