LOL just thinking of weird things

I'm thinking of the strangest things...here's my latest "dilemma". Where am I going to put the baby during the day? With the twins we did bouncy seat/glider chair during the day and also the floor and at night they shared a cradle in our room until at 12wks they moved to their own cribs in their room. Well with 2 toddlers running around I can't really lay the baby on the floor right away and I'm afraid of what the boys will do to the bouncy seat or glider! I know I could put him/her in their crib bc we just have a 1 story house but I think the difference of scenery helped the boys distinguish night and day quicker.

What would you do? Thanks!!!

 

Could you get a small bassinet to sit in the living room? Maybe set the swing/glider up now and start training the boys to stay out of it.

 

We usually put Ryder in his bouncy seat on the table or counter and carry him from room to room with us so we're always keeping an eye on him. I'm trying the swing more because he likes it but the twins bother him a lot in there. I think they would have been fine but a friends 3 yr old came over and started pushing the swing and messing with it like crazy (before the baby was born) so now the twins mess with it. We're working with them and they're getting better slowly. As far as sleeping he sleeps anywhere right now. He's sick with a cold and gags a lot with the mucous so me being paranoid keeps him wherever I am. LOL Hopefully he gets better quick so I can get him used to laying down sleep. He just can't breathe like that right now. i'd say get the stuff out as it gets closer so they get used to it.

 

I still put mine in bouncy/swing/etc. At first it was a lot of teaching to leave the baby alone but they got there. I don't really put him on the floor unless we're in the house alone or I have Becca otherwise occupied. They're pretty good, though.

 

Of course my girls are a lot older but I put Blake in the bouncy and take him with me as I move around the house. When my oldest DD was a toddler and the twins were babies I put them in the swing and taught her not to mess with it. As far as floor time went I wasn't comfortable doing that when they were still so tiny so I put them in the packnplay until they were a little older and then when I started putting them on the floor I'd stay next to them to make sure my oldest was being safe around them.
