Do they have them where you live, and how helpful was/is it to you.

I know we have a great one locally, I just haven't joined as of yet. Just curious how much you like yours.

Truthfully this site has given me all the support I've needed. I do have a mothers of multiples group in my area but they only meet once a month. Also given the fact that I couldn't really go out much of my pregnancy it wouldn't have done me a whole lot of good. I plan on looking into it after the babies are born more just to meet other women and maybe give me a night away.

I agree with PP that this site has been the best support so far. I have to log on daily just to see if there is anything else I can learn. Where I currently live, there is a support group, but where I will be moving in July, there is no support group. Plus, I've looked into some and if you're a working momma it really won't help because they tend to meet during the day on weekdays. If you're a SAHM then those support groups may be beneficial, just to let you get out of the house every once in a while. This site is the best pick for me! :D

I wish I had joined mine earlier in pregnancy. (Well, it was partly their fault -- I called them to get the info and they didn't call me back for months, because they didn't realize their voicemail wasn't working, or something.) They have a special get-together called "newbies and gonnabes" for pregnant women or moms/dads in the first year. By the time I joined, I was on bedrest and couldn't go.

Then I went back to work when the twins were 8 weeks old, and nearly all the twins' club events are on weekdays. They do occasionally have something on a weekend, and I try to go to those, but I feel sort of out of it.

It also pays to reach out. When my girls were smaller, I sent email to the whole list asking if anyone was interested in going strollering on weekends. I only wound up meeting up with a few people, but I emailed with a bunch more. It really helped me feel connected to the group.

Most importantly, it has been totally worth it for the twice-a-year sale. I've gotten nearly all our "gear" there -- exersaucers, bouncy seats, feeding boosters, riding toys, etc. -- for like $5 a piece.

Like Erika, I've found most of the support I need here. The local group here only meets once a month also, at night.

Since I'm a working mom, I don't want the "night out", I would rather stay home and chill with my kiddos! I'll continue to check in here from work!

Ours is a $25 annual (which I why i haven't joined yet) but it sounds like they give a lot of IRL support when the babies come (if needed).

I joined a local moms of multiples group a few months ago, but haven't been to any events yet. They, too, have official meetings once a month at night -- but in addition to that, they plan tons of special events, field trips, play dates, etc.

I was mostly interested in meeting other twin moms -- I am/will be a SAHM, so I need to get out of the house for my sanity! My older daughter will be going to preschool three mornings a week, so I figured club outings would be the perfect reason to leave the house with the new babies -- everyone will understand when I can't get my act together, LOL.

The group also has a big sister/little sister program, and a support group for people on hospital bedrest.....plus, they have a huge annual sale, where many people volunteer -- and club members get first dibs at the merchandise.

We're actually planning to go to the planned Mother's Day picnic as our first event.....

So, it's not so much support for me, but I hope it becomes a good social outlet!

I love TS. And while I get all the support and more that I could ever need here, I thought it was important for me to build relationships and a support network with people in my community.

I joined our local club when the kids were a few months old. In retrospect, I would have done it even earlier, while pregnant. I am not super involved, but have met some wonderful people. I attend play dates when I can (I work part time, and when I am home, we usually have a lot going on). And I have occasionally attended an evening event. The evening events are hard for me because I hate leaving the kids and DH after a long day at work. The other thing about our club that I love is that we have a wonderful online community. I have purchased a lot of toys for my kids that way, and I have even sold quite a few things. Plus it is a great resource to find local babysitters, plumbers, upcoming sales, you name it!!!

I plan-if the babies aren't here yet and I'm not on any further restrictions-to goto the next meeting my chapter has. It's May 17th and while they only do meet once a month I'm looking at it for support for me, and I bet that I'll gain at least on close friend. They do a lot of things with the kids and husbands as well. It is $30 but I think it'll be invaulable to have face to face contact with people who've been there and done that.
