We are currently rebuilding our home and living with family. The room we are staying in is medium sized and right now DD's playard fits in here fine. We will be staying here until the twins are about 3-4 months old. DD's will be moving into an extra bedroom soon so the twins can sleep in here when they come.

My question is what playard/changer is the best for twins (I know this question has probably been asked but I couldn't find the answer I was looking for).

I used the mini arms reach co-sleeper with DD and I LOVED it! The problem is I'd have to buy a change table if I got a full size co-sleeper and I dont think we have enough room for it. So I wanted to buy a playard/changer combo for the room. I like the ones with the changing table that connects up high (http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3417594) and doesnt take up a whole half of the playard (http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3471706).

I really have no idea what to buy. The () are just examples of what I do and dont like in a changer. So what playard/changer combo is good for twins? I've read that a lot of them have low weight limits like 15lbs or the middle of the bassinet part starts to sag when the twins get to heavy. So I was wondering what you wonderful M.O.M.'s use?

I never had a changer and I did fine. If you liked the mini cosleeper, I'd probably go with the full size one for twins.

I don't think you will find a twin pack n play that has a changer on it, the only one I know of is this one http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3671945 . I think you'd be fine with just a regular co sleeper or this twin pack n play, although I think the cosleeper has a higher weight limit on it. You can change the babies in their bed until you move and have room for a changing table.

I agree with PP's, you probably will end up using your bed as a changing table more, I would probably get a co-sleeper if they hold more weight. Although I have a pack'n'play with a changing table which was in our family room as it got used alot - so many both!?!

I used the original Arms Reach Cosleeper & loved it. This pnp is nice for twins but doesn't solve the issue of a changing table. I kind of like the looks of this one but, you are right, the weight limit might eventually become an issue. Honestly, if it were me, I would pick whatever I liked for them to sleep in & I would probably just change them on a pad on the bed.

I used a mini-crib at first, and put both of them in it. They grew out of it quickly though, and went into one full-sized crib in our room. Space was an issue for us too until we moved to a bigger house when they were 8 months. I never had a changing table for any of my kids. I just changed them on the bed/couch/floor.

I should mention that you don't necessarily have to have a changing table/station, we use the top of our dresser in the bedroom as our changing station until we move the babies out of our room.

We used the original Co-Sleeper (still use it as a Pack N Play). Our LOs slept in that for the first 5 months. I loved it. I would recommend just changing them on the bed. A changing table is not essential.

    Thanks everyone.

I did love my co-sleeper and DD stayed in it until she was 9 months old. The problem is this is not my house, my bed or my room. I would feel horrible if the twins ruined the bed with an "accident" or something. I know we really dont need a changer but I thought it would be nice since I have back issues. I change DD on the bed right now and it's hard. We plan to CD the twins and since I've never used CD before I'm worried about accidents and stuff.

I guess I'm really stuck on the fence b/c I loved my mini co-sleeper but I'm not sure what would work the best in our current situation.

Maybe you could put an old comforter on the bed if you use it as a changing table. We have a really high bed, so it hasn't been a problem changing them on the bed. I could see how it would hurt your back if you had a lower bed.

DH and I stayed at my parents house for about a month and a half when our lo's were 3 months old. We were in the middle of a move and decided that was the easiest thing to do. They only slept in it for a few weeks and by the time we were traveling the weight limit was an issue. I just wasn't impressed really and the playard part is too small for twins in my opinion. But, at that age they slept together in one crib, so whatever you liked the first go around I'd do again. I changed diapers mostly on the bed too because my Mom didn't have a changing table and I didn't want to buy one. The one thing I'm so glad I had? A double stroller so we could get out and walk and because it was so cramped, we walked a lot. :) It was nice to be around family though with such young babies...enjoy the help, I'm sure your family will be happy to give it.
