Liver Ache? Heavy feeling liver?

I know this sounds crazy, but does anyone's liver ache? I can't sleep because it feels so heavy and achy. Am I crazy? Am I just plain whiny?

 

Well, I googled it because you probably shouldn't, lol. I would just go ahead and let your doctor know because from what I read it is not uncommon but staying on top of it is important in case it's an indication of complications that will occur later. They can probably just run a blood test to see how your liver function is and if it is fine, which it most likely is, then you will know it's from pressure on your body.

 

My upper right side always ached, and it got terrible (with both my pregnancies) my OB never seemed concerned and I figured it was a baby with a big booty pressing against it-ooooweee!!
I did have protien in my urine towards the end so I have wonder ardon:

What do you mean by achy? Is it burning pain or just the heaviness. With my oldest dd I had apparently developed some type of HELLP and was in severe liver pain (I couldn't move it was so severe) and I thought it was just round ligament pain, but my liver was enlarged and was having issues. I had no idea my bp was so high. I would let your dr know what you are feeling so s/he can feel around to see if anything is going on.

 

I appreciate you ladies writing in. The ache is like a heaviness. I feel like it weighs 20 pounds. It is worse at night... Right now it is not hurting, but last night I was miserable. It's not a stabbing pain, the ache is like if someone was squeezing it. It was constant all night. I've had a pain under my right shoulder blade for months also. And at night I get very itchy, I have to take a bath and put oil in it, my feel also feel dry/itch and need constant lotioning. I don't whine to my doctor about things, she wants to choke me for NOT whining, but I did call about this. I'm not jaundice, nor nauseated, but I did just get diagnosed with gestational diabetes. Go figure.

 

The itchiness and liver pain sound like something I just read about. ICP maybe? I saw it when I googled liver pain in pregnancy. It's always best just to get things checked out.

 

Choleostasis. I may be spelling it wrong but I had it. It is when bile salts don't bind. It can cause horrible itching and it can be dangerous. Look in to it. Good luck!

 

I really think I am just a wimp!!! I think it was Lance my little liver loving baby!! I think he was hiding out and pressing on my liver! That kid is causing me so much pain emotionally and physically. He is my little guy with a lethal trisomy 3 that refuses to give up!! I can't wait to squeeze that bad boy!
