do you use them? do i really need them for a kiddie pool? or is a diaper enough for the half hour that they'll be in there?

p.s. i got the COOLEST kiddie pool :D it's a whale, and the fin comes up and over so it shades half the pool, so the girls get shade and mama gets sun :p

The one time the girls went in our kiddo pool (this weekend!) I used them. DH thought I was nuts because we were in there for like 15 minutes, but I'd rather use it and not fish out poopy from the pool or have girls in enormous diapers standing in a pool with no water. He went along with these arguments...

I wouldn't keep them in their regular diapers. They absorb water and get HUGE real quick, you risk the chance of them popping and leaking all that diaper stuff into the pool.

Last summer my girls either wore swimmers or occasionally went nakie.

We use swim diapers in the baby pool as well.

We don't use them, i figure that if either of them go, it's really simple to just grab the kids and dump out the water. If it was a public pool, yes, beach maybe. . .(can't be any worse than the fish poop!)

i always used the swim diapers...no matter where they were swimming. the regular ones get so big and if they explode, it isn't pretty.

also a note to remember about swim diapers - they do not work as a diaper...if you put one on and then go for a ride in the car...and they pee...the swim diaper will not absorb it!

It's really up to you - if you were going to be at a public pool then little swimmers are a must. But if you're at your own house, then it's up to you really. I have only put a swimmer on 1 baby 1 time, because she hadn't pooped recently and I didn't want to fish poop out of the pool. It doesn't stop urine from getting in the water. It's really good for your babies diaper area to have some air and be in the water.

Diapers in a kiddie pool are not pretty. Even if no one poops, the diapers still get all water logged and gross. So I'd vote either swim diapers or naked. My girls are really regular about when they poop during the day so I take their diapers off and let them swim with just a suit or fully naked. We go in the backyard kiddie pool too often to spend the money on swim diapers. I save those for when we go to a pool party.

I bought wee wave cloth swim diapers. THey only cos $6 at BRU. Then I don't feel bad about wasting one for 15 or 30 min in the pool and you just throw it in the wash with the suit. They are so cute, you almost hate to cover them up with suits.

I bought the cloth swim diapers from target and we use those in our pool but for the public pools we are required to use the actual swim diapers. It is good to know that they don't work outside of the pool because we usually put them on before the drive!!

Oh! I want a pool! Where did you get it?
I already got the girls 4 bathing suits (2 each), swim diapers, and those floatie thing they sit in and this is our first heat wave!
Ever since I got preg I cant deal with the heat anymore! I never used to get hot now I am half naked when its 75. My aunt has an above ground pool so I will probably bring the girls over there like once a week ATLEAST for a swim (she lives about 10mins) but I want something for my yard too.
Did you use it yet? Is it hot enough yet? Pictures!!! :p
