Little people toys ROCK!

This week has been crazy because our sitter and her family have come down with the horrible stomach flu that my family had 2 weeks ago. DH and I both work full time so its been challenging juggling child-care this week. Yesterday I was forced to bring the girls to work with me because DH watched them in the morning and had a lot to do in the afternoon, and I had a meeting scheduled with a graduate student that I couldn't cancel. I warned the grad student that the meeting might have to be cut short, but we'd do our best to get the work done and hopefully the two munchkins would cooperate.

I bought a bunch of Little People toys off craigslist in the fall and never gave them to them (was going to be their christmas presents, but they ended up getting so much stuff that I left it in storage). Well I brought all that stuff to my office and the girls played quietly and happily for 2 1/2 HOURS in my office while I had my meeting!!!!! This morning when I left for work they asked to come back with me DH has them today and I told him to bring the LP toys if he has to go to the office!

So if you have 3ish year olds and you need some solid quiet play time, get Little People toys! We have a doll house, two school buses, a playground, and two trains and they shared and played SOOO nicely!!!! I haven't even brought out the whole 'city center' that I still have in storage. I guess I'll save that for the next emergency child-care situation.

 

Hooray for Little People..my son loved those toys. I don't know why we haven't bought them for the girls, but my son couldn't get enough!

YAY!! It's so nice to find something that will keep the occupied for any amount of time ~ but especially over 2 hours...Woohoo!!

My two love their Little People as well. They go through the actual 'people' and tell me who everyone is. There is a little girl that has glasses and a backpack that they say is Ashley (my oldest daughter) since she wears glasses and has a backpack for school. Noah, from Noah's ark ~ is grandpa. I'm guessing because he looks older We also have a lot of the animals that we 'play' with daily to work on our animal recognition.

:woo: That sounds awesome! You're giving me ideas for their birthday... We've got some presents for them already, but one thing we'd thought they'd have grown into still seems a little old for them, so maybe we'll do LP instead!

2.5 HOURS?!?! :blink: That is awesome! We are a LP household too. LOVE them!!

 

Mine are almost five years old and they STILL love their Little People toys. Just when I think I am ready to pass them along, the kids take them out and play with them for hours.

 

We are on day 3 of LP obsession. This morning they got up and went into the den to play with them while I slept in. DH watched them all day yesterday and had big plans to take them out visiting some friends, but he couldn't pry them away from the LP!!!

 

My kids love the LP toys. BUT they love my mom's little people toys even more. My mother has the ones that we had as kids in a place she has set aside for her many grandchildren to play. There is a village, a merry go round, a Sesame Street, a schoolhouse and a few others. They will go immediately to that room when we get to my parents' house and play the whole time we are there. She also has all my brothers' matchbox/hotwheels cars for them to play with. Last summer we brought home my barbies from when I was a kid.
