    Hi Everyone,

I'm worried about Mikayla. She has been very listless...no energy. She won't eat anything. She is drinking tons and tons of milk like she is dehydrated or something.

She is running a mild fever too...last night and today. She doesn't seem to have any other symptoms. Is it ok for her to JUST drink milk? Cup after cup, bottle after bottle?

We do have our 15 month appt. tomorrow...maybe the Dr. will shed some light on this.

Can you get her to drink something with electrolytes like pediatlyte? That would probably help more with the dehydration. I hope she feels better soon. Let us know what the pedi says.

She shakes her head NO at juice and pedialyte. She did want to nurse tho, and I've weaned the twins. (She hasn't nursed in months). She did take a sip or 2 of water, but she keeps signing milk and whining for a bottle of milk.

HOw long has she been fevered for? How high is the fever? I have to say that when my girls are sick- they don't drink much and surely don't eat much. Will she eat any jello or popsicles? Just enought to offset the milk intake? What about adding something like carnation instant breakfast? And the listless- has this been going on just today or for a while?

The fever has been between 100- 101. Then it will break, and she'll be fine for a few hours, then it comes back again. It has been going on since Sunday morning...so 2 full days.

Her throat might be really sore and the milk will feel good on it. When Ethan had HFM Disease this summer, he just had the fever and my high energy child just laid on me constantly. When I took him to the pedi, they saw that his throat was raw and diagnosed him w/HFM Disease. All he had was milk for a few days until his throat started feeling better. The pedi said that was ok for a few days.

Hope she is feeling better soon!

Maybe she has an ear infection.
Dani was kind of like that on friday night and saturday morning but her fever was 101 so i took her into the ped. She had an ear infection. She was not pulling on her ear at all.

    I hope she feels better.

Could it be teething? That's how my kids act, especially with painful molars. A slight teething fever and it hurts too much to eat so they drink their caloric intake!

Hope she is feeling better soon!

    UPDATE:

Well, we couldn't get her to the doctor for 2 days because of the snow/ice storm. We went today and this morning she had developed a rash over her entire torso and back. The doctor says she has ROSEOLA!

There is nothing we can do because it's a virus. [IMG]

She continues to be listless, not eating, but the fever has broken.
