Okay, so the twins are moving but not as much as they were. I can drink cold fluids and lie on my side and they move. I can just tell that the movements are so limited. They are growing out of room I am sure. I don't have my appt until Thursday and don't know if this warrants going in earlier than that??! The dr. said they do grow out of room and that is when women go into labor. I had some contractions last night but took a warm shower and drank some cold water and fell back asleep and felt a bit better this morning.

Did anyone else feel the twins move less before they delivered?

i want to know this, too. i have felt limited movement the last day and a half. it's enough movement that i'm not concerned, but seems like they might have stopped dancing.

I will be 36 weeks in two days, and I'm starting to feel less movement as well. I don't really feel them when I'm sleeping (i'm a light sleeper too) and really I only feel them once during the day and once at night. I think my boy/girl are running out of space in their apartment...lol.

    [SIZE=12pt]Hey Mommas!
Well sorry to say but this is 100% Normal; if we can even use that word in TwinSanity! This is the home stretch and the babies have used up all the space! So less movement but big stretches occasionally! I have B/G twins! So we made it 36 ½ weeks. And Seriously I was in so much pain. Sleeping sitting up so relax and be healthy the little ones are coming and there won’t be much “me time” its all about them! Good luck ladies.

If you are concerned, I would go in and be monitored. There is something to be said for momma's peace of mind! Congrats to all of you on making it this far! Great job!

I was just going to suggest going to the OB if you are concerned. Have you been going to the hospital for NSTs?

Not to alarm you, but when I I was 36w with the girls, there was a decrease in Claire's (Baby A) movement. She was moving fine at my last NST which was on a Monday (36w2d). The next day, she wasn't moving as much, but wasn't alarmed cause she wasn't a big mover during the day. At night though she usually was, and I still wasn't feeling her all that much. So the next day I called in (Wed, 36w4d) about it. I was told that I had passed my NST and it was good for 5 days. I knew though something wasn't right though, and was told that I could be put on the monitors if I wanted. Well, I had a dermatology appt. that afternoon and really wanted to go since I was desperatly wanting relief from the a rash that had developed at 34wks around my stretch marks on my belly. Plus, I was going in the next day for an u/s, BPP, NST and OB appt. So I said that I would give it til after the appt. and call back if there was still little movement.

So I gave it the afternoon. She was moving around some on my way to the appt. and they were both moving during the skin biopsy. She moved a little more that night. It still wasn't as much as normal though...even after, drinking caffine, OJ, eating, laying on my left side, and so on. The next morning, I had to eat a full meal before my u/s and BPP. She was not moving at all. I was feeling nervous about going to the u/s. I get there and they start the BPP on her and it all changed from there.

She failed the BPP due to not kicking (but once) and not flexing. That is all I was told at that point. They called my OB...was sent to the hospital for an NST (normally do them in office). During my 5 minute drive to the hospital, my OB got my report, and when I registared, I found out I was being admitted and having the c-section. My OB arrives about an hour later. She was moving a little while being prepped for the c/s. He told me though that her dopplar was abnormal. She was no longer getting the nutrients from me. I was pretty much told that she needed to be taken that day b/c she might of not lived another day in-utero. So 2h45m after my u/s the girls were born.

I would get it checked out....especially if your gut is telling you to. Things change quickly. Her movements changed the day after my NST where everything was fine...including her movement. I am so glad that we had that BPP done that day.

I don't mean to scare you, but I could of lost her and the warning signs were her not moving as much. Yes, the move less as you get bigger, but it never hurts to have it checked out.

My understanding is that reduced movement is generally normal at this point but I agree with pp that you should call if you are concerned about it - let the docs check you out (or tell you not to worry - it means more coming from them than us anyway!). maybe they really are coming soon!

Good luck - keep us posted!

I do not feel a whole lot of movement like I used to anymore, especially at night I do not feel a thing and it's eerie. I have to do something to make them move at night to make me feel better. Anyway my doctor says that I should feel ten movements within every hour. My problem is I can not distinguish which one is doing the kicking unless its really obvious like Left side right side. I feel like the babies don't have space to move anymore in me they are 5lb50z and 5lb 12oz and my stomach is big but doesn't seem big enough to have 10 pounds in there. I can't wait to see how big they really actually are.

I don't know, my babies have been super active the last few days, moreso than they have been in a long time, and I have no room left!! If you feel less than 10 kicks in an hour, or the movement doesn't pick back up, I would call. Also, put your hand on your belly, b/c I will occasionally notice rolling movements that I can't feel from the inside anymore, but can feel and see from the outside.

I totally just put my hand on my stomach and felt lots of movement that I did not feel from the inside I think that happens alot. It's weird that you said that and then it happened.

i just noticed that over the past day, too, because i was starting to get paranoid. it is very strange that they can be moving in such a dramatic way that i can SEE it, yet i don't feel it.

I had the same thing towards the end, not so much kicking and swimming around, but more like big rolling movements. They just get so crowded in there. I agree with PP too, that if you put your hands on your belly, you sometimes can feel more than you can actually feel on the inside. But if your gut feeling is to get it checked out, then by all means get it checked out.

I did finally feel him moving last night and a little this morning, he just seems so much more cramped up then she is for some reason. I go tomorrow t 1pm so I will definitely ask her then unless he stops moving all together.

    Thanks everyone.
