I was wondering if anyone could help me with this. I originally got pregnant with quads (on birth control). I lost 2 of them at 7 wks. and delivered fraternal twins. Does anyone know where you can find out your chances of multiples again? A website or is there a thread on here already?

    Thanks!

I have no idea but seems to me if you got pregnant with quads on birth control your odds of multiples again would be pretty high!!! ???

Thanks! I've heard chances were anywhere from 1 in 5 and another site I found said 1 in 12 so I don't know who's right! I do know I'm 3 1/2 years older now and I do think age does have something to do with it. I guess IF we decide to have more we'll be taking our chances!

I believe your odds are 1 in 20 if you conceived fraternal twins with no assistance.

My oldest DD was a twin, but I miscarried the other baby early in the pg. (I was taking clomid which only has like a 5% chance of twins, right?) I begged DH for 1 more baby and he finally agreed, but only if we tried all naturally because we couldn't afford any more kids - 2 was going to be pushing it. I talked to my OB about my chances of twins again and he said they definitely went up with clomid and a previous twin pg. Well, no clomid ... but I now have 11 month old twins. They do not run in my family and have no clue where they came from. My point, if you got pg with quads with no fertility treatments, I definitely think your chances are up there! I definitely didn't think it could happen twice, but it did (thank goodness!).

WOW HT that is wonderful!! Congrats! I think it would be wonderful to have 2 sets but whatever is meant to be will happen I guess!

I'll try and find it, but I have definitely read if you ever conceive multiples w/o assistance, particularly fraternals then you're odds go up pretty dramatically to have them again.

oh funny! I just decied to Google it and see what I could find and our very own TS wiki was first in the list!

reasoning is if you have fraternals, you're obviously dropping more than one egg a sycle. . . if your body does this it's likely that subsequent pregnancies could result in teh smae way.

I conceived triplets naturally and lost one early on. My Peri said will all my risk factors if I get pregnant again I should EXPECT multiples. He said technically the odds are 1 in 5 but with my he would wager big bucks I would become pregnant with 2 or more again.

I come from a long line of twins. My very own first cousin is a member of twinstuff is pregnant with twins right now. My Nana has 6 great granchildren and 4 are twins. :)

My hubby always says we have to plan for 2 and if we get 1 then we get 1. :)

Personally I would love 2 again so we can be done with pregnancies!
