i had my boys at 35 weeks via c-section and since then i have had weird reactions...like i'm in the first trimester all over again only worse! i can't eat, smells are nauseating and my stomach is constantly upset....anyone else have this problem and how long does it take to get over?

i haven't eaten a real meal in over a week. i literally ate a single gram cracker yesterday, a small bowl of soup and half a slice of pizza all day yesterday. i just can't force the food in.

Hmmm... I was a little nauseous the first day afterwards, but since then I've been able to eat fine. The first few weeks I didn't really have the time to eat, but I could! Hope you feel better soon!

Could it be more stress, nerves and exhaustion maybe?

I have never heard those symptoms you are experiencing being associated with a c-section. You should definitely talk to your Dr about it. You need to make sure you are eating and taking care of yourself. Your babies need a healthy momma!!

Are you on pain meds? The meds could be the problem. You could be having a bad reaction to one of them. The c-section shouldn't cause the symptoms you cite. I had a c-section five weeks ago and, because I'm breastfeeding, have pretty much retained the same appetite I had during pregnancy.

I had those same problems after DS2 was born, but I had a VBAC. It came with intense pain in my sides and a high fever as well. We couldn't figure out if it was a virus I picked up at the hospital or if it was a reaction to one of the medications I was given. It's also a possibility that you're having some anxiety issues. Either way, you should probably go see a doctor. In the meantime, I would try drinking something like Gatorade or Vitamin Water. You need to keep yourself hydrated, but you also need to have some sort of caloric intake. Both of those made me feel better (I also got a nasty case of gastroenteritis when I was pregnant with the twins) and helped fight off the nausea.
