My son is seriously obsessed with the movie Cars (or Vroom Vroom as we call it 'round here :) ). He feels the need to watch it at least once a day. He talks about the characters as though they are his friends ("Mater is nuts, Mama!"). He will assign each of us a character to be ("Mama, you be Chick Hicks. Hannah, you can be The King."), which really amused his cousins on vacation last week. He ran around the house making car noises and saying "I am speed!". I don't remember the other two becoming that "into" a movie. Does anyone else have a kids with some weird obsession like that??

My son is obsessed with cars and diggers. :gah: It is hard driving with him because it's all "mom, look at that" "look Mama! Look Mama!" It doesn't sound bad but it is when it's happening every few minutes and he is screaming in excitement as if it's the first car he's ever seen. He likes the characters from Cars but isn't into the movie. :pardon:

Jo is obsessed with horses! She will go around the house on her hands and knees making horse noises. She will toss her head just like a horse and rear up on her knees just like a horse does. She sees every horse on the side of the road and gets so excited. We were at a small fair a week or so ago and they had ponies to ride. That's what she did, over and over. Never mind playing games, she was all about the ponies. Her favorite pony liked to speed up to get to the front of the line; Jo loved going faster! Guess who's (probably) going to Girl Scout horse camp when she gets older (if the obsession continues)?

Oh man, Liam and Jake would be BEST FRIENDS! Every single day, Jake runs in from daycare, doesn't even give me a hug, and says "Mom, I need to watch CARS". I NEED. really? He's got CARS everything ... he loves them all ... He especially loves Frank and the tractors (isn't that weird?) ... but he laughs everytime Mater shows up.

It's so funny ... and when I put the movie on, it's a guaranteed 2 hours that he will not move, talk, or do anything. Hailey on the other hand doesn't have that much interest in it ... she likes it, but not to the level he does. So there is constant fighting about are we watching CARS or Dora. Ugh.

Different age, but I've got a story about this...

One of my best friends in middle school had a 5 yr old brother who was OBSESSED with Ghostbusters. Every single day, he had to watch the movie. But he didn't just watch it: he paused it every few minutes or so to act out everything he'd just seen with his Ghostbusters figurines.

And did I mention that he did this every single day?

Both of mine are OBSESSED with Little Einstein's (Ro-Ro as they call it). To the point where they think that is the only thing that comes on TV. The first thing my DS says when he wakes up from his nap is Ro-Ro T (translation: he wants to watch ro-ro on the TV). He does this without fail. His little eyes pop open and that is the first thing that comes out of his mouth. I am sooooooo sick of Little Einstein's. I can't wait until they move on to something else!!

That is just too cute Maureen!!! My girls are really into Wonder Pets right now and are constantly saving random stuffed animals, each other, me, a blanket, etc etc. They do assign each other roles too.. I always end up being Tuck.

I found out this morning that my nephew is like this, but with Boston Celtics players. (He is a sports nut.) He will say "I'm Paul Pierce, you be Ray Allen and Daddy can be Kevin Garnett" He is three weeks younger than Liam.

Me Me! My son is currently obsessed with Tom and Jerry. I cannot tell you how many times we watched Tom and Jerry at the beach. I can say that everyone in the house (all 11 adults) was able to memorize both really long DvDs. He was like that about Cars and moved on to this. I cannot wait to see what the next obsession is.

I know mine get obsessed with various things that change a bit over time, although they have a few favorites that they have yet to lose interest in. The newest obsession is a movie we have called Pocket Dragon Adventures. They wanted to watch this movie *all* day yesterday even though it was gorgeous outside. Ooof.

Mine are like that too, but with MANY different movies. It just depends on the day. Currently we are stuck on Finding Nemo, they start acting it out with each other. Mattie will tell me that I am like Dori. LOL!

Next week it may be Narnia (but none of the scary parts), or Alvin and the Chipmunks, or Snow Buddies, or Tinkerbell. The list is endless. Did I tell you mine are obsessed with TV and I am one of those bad moms that lets them watch it.

My two are obsessed with the Fresh Beat Band.

They just told me that they are coming over later to paint and do some crafts with us! :D

I let mine watch TV too (the Sprout or Noggin channel) for about an hour or two a day. You're not alone ;-)

Julie, Nadia is also obsessed with the Fresh Beat band! OMG, she talks about them all day, and now that the shows are actually on, it's the first thing she does when she gets home from school. (I don't mind them, but personally I'm a little horrified that her introduction to rap is with that big dorky guy.)

But two years ago, her obsession was the Lion King. I can't even tell you how many times we watched the movies. Oy. (I actually like that Lion King 1.5 is an MST3K version -- cracks me up.) And then, the live show came to Atlanta last year, and DH took her -- wow, she was mesmerized.

For the past year, her obsession has been High School Musical. And, it didn't help that all her little girlfriends at school have been obsessed with it, too. That's abated somewhat...

The good news is, they grow out of it!

Sarah is so into princesses and ballerina's that we literally have watched Cinderella 1,000 times, all the Barbie movies that have to do with dancing, and she wears her ballerina dress on a daily basis. As soon as her feet touch the floor, she has to have it complete with slippers and crown. The girl is nutso about ballerinas and proclaims on a daily basis that she is a ballerina. This is why we decided to decorate the girls' room entirely in princesses. Allison is not so much as Sarah, although she does have a long sleeve velvet dress that she insists on wearing daily with her blue cinderella crown :) It will be 90 degrees outside and you will see my lovely girls outside with their pink ballet dress and long-sleeve velvet dress on sweating bullets, but don't try to take it off of them! I love my girls!

    Oh Cars.....the love affair.

I made a HUGE mistake downloading the music from the movie to my ipod. ALL WE LISTEN TO is Real Gone (the first song) and Life is a Highway (when mack and lightning leave the race track in beginning).

We get in the car and it's "race cars please". then it's "race cars again".

When we pass the gas station DS says "no tires, just gas!".
