My girls turned seven months yesterday (yay!). I decided to ditch the feeding schedules and am NERVOUS! Their pedi is always asking who is eating how much, I'm just afraid that I won't remember. I am SUCH a control freak and I want to be done with the schedules but I also feel like I will be a little out of control.

How many of you had tossed them by this point? How do you keep track of who eats what?

    Hey Michelle,

I haven't kept track since the first few weeks on a regular basis. Now, I only do it when they are sick or I feel that they aren't getting enough, which is not very often. If it makes you feel better to keep doing it, I would keep on! My 2 have always been on the same schedule, so it has been pretty easy to know who eats what. Good luck with your decision....either way, you will be fine! (insert hug smiley :icon_biggrin: )

I stopped doing it by the time they were 2 months. ;) As long as you feed them at pretty much the same times as before they will doing fine. Maybe you can doa short one week schedule just before doc visits so you know exactly how much they are getting???

  4. I still track what they eat, when they nap, and when we change diapers. What can I say, DH and I are both very analytical and I like to see what they do with the nanny during the day. We also weigh them every other night on bath night and track that too!

I never kept track, I always did remember who ate what and when so I guess I never really had the need to do it

Ours are 9 months and we still track what they eat in a log every day! I am so forgetful lately, I cannot remember who I fed when. The journal makes it easy! It's also a very helpful communication tool during the work week between me, DH and the nanny - we all know who did what and when so that when each of us "takes over", we know what needs to be done.

That's funny. I posted this same thing at 7 months and I survived. I no longer keep track of anything. I kept a running list of when I tried new foods for about 2 months. I just did this for allergy purposes; however, I am no longer keeping up. I also have a page that I write down each month how much on average they are drinking. This is just so I don't forget when others ask.

The first few days of not tracking I felt like I was forgetting something. It took a while to get used to. You can survive!

I kept track until 9 or 10 months -- I quit when I realized it was stressing me out more to remember to write it down. Fortunately mine were not preemies and never had eating issues, so I didn't worry too much about who ate what when. And our ped is one of those "everything's normal, don't worry" types, so he never asked. Anyway, if yours are on a fairly predictable schedule and eat pretty well, I say ditch the schedules and use that time for something more important!

I know how you feel! I was keeping track up until about 1 month ago! It just seemed to work for us so I kept at it! :D Don't worry, it will work out great... it did for us B)

oh goodness, we still keep a journal, its nice to see the girls getting into a routine and it's really sweet to flick back to the early days when they were eating every two hours :D We used to write wet nappies but stopped that. It's a good way for us and the nanny to keep updated on who's eaten what. I guess we'll probably keep journalling for a while!

We still keep track of feeding... what they ate/etc. And naptimes. I don't know why I keep doing it as I could probably remember by now. I know I should probably stop it eventually. ;)
