Just wanted to see if anybody has experienced this..... Early each morning lately, I have been waking up with this achy pain in my legs. I'm not sure if it's leg cramps because it's in my upper thighs & the ache always wakes me up. It feels better when I get up & walk around , but who wants to do that at 6am when I should be sleeping? :) Do you think my hips are not being supported enough & that's what's causing this? I've just started sleeping on my side with a body pillow between my legs for support, but since I'm not 100% used to that, I usually wind up kicking the body pillow out of the bed at some point during the night. If anyone has experienced this & has advice, I'd love to hear it! I'm trying to stock up on my sleep now while I can!!!

I get that, though I started at about 23 weeks for me. It's only on the lower laying thigh, ie if I am laying on my left, the left thigh and hip. I have a body pillow and it helped a bit, but I still get the pain. At this stage, I usually wake up every 2-3 hours with the pain and have to turn on my other side, then I can all right back to sleep (If I don't need to go to the bathroom anyway ;) ). Sorry I cannot offer a solution, but you are not alone!

Mine was achey but also jittery like the pp described, or Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS). I started taking iron supplements for an unrelated issue and the RLS went away almost immediately. A while later, I was reading an article in Parenting Magazine that recommended iron supplements for RLS. It was then that I put two and two together. It might be worth mentioning to your doctor.

I had the same exact scenario with the RLS. Though my legs were never achy -- though the rest of me is! I wake up every 2-3 hours to shift because my body and my joints are so sore from all this weight. Good luck!

I got that every now and then as well. It kind of felt like the "growing pains" I used to get when I was younger. Just really uncomfortable achiness in the upper leg. Totally different than the calf cramps that also happen quite frequently to pregnant women.
