Can you leak water, or if you water breaks it just gushes?

I am asking because i was wearing silk underwear today, and felt like discharge was coming out. This is normal feeling for me and this pregnancy i have ALOT of it. Well when i went pee, my underwear were wet but there was no sign of discharge at all. when i wiped there was no discharge coming out of me. I am wearing a pad right now, to check to see if its wet or whatever then if it is im obviously going to l*d but i wasnt sure if it would just be a gush or slowly coming out???

I went in on Tuesday for pains and my dr asked me if I was having leakage and I had her define the difference between leakage and discharge. She said if it feels like you have peed your pants with no control that is leakage. And i know that you can slowly leak but if it is leaking it is my understanding you must go to L&D.

yes, you can have a slow leak.

I had to go to the ER with my dd becaseu I was wet alot. when I called the doc he wanted me to make sure I not change my underwear and go go straight to the er. (TMI Sorry). They monitored me a bit and checked me adn it ended up to be just a liquid discharge but you should call your doc just to be on the safe side.

Yes it can leak. That is what happened to me with my 1st DD. I came home from a DRs visit (on a Thursday at which they told me I was going to be induced that Monday if nothing happened over the weekend.) and I went to use the bathroom, and before I started peeing, 'something' was dripping into the toilet. I called my NP at my OBs office and she told me to change my underwear and lay down for a few minutes and if I felt it again to go to L&D. I was leaking...I had my baby that night. .well midnight. But I was 1 week from my due date.

Yes, you can have a slow leak. I did with my oldest DD the day before she was born.

I gushed but my friend had the dripping that pp mentioned. I would sit on the toilet and listen for something. If it's enough to make a noise, go to l&d.

well i feel a little wet sensation, but not like im peeing more like discharge but its clear and just looks like wet undies lol. I guess i will see how it goes and if anything just go get checked i just hate going down there when its nothing because they act like its for attention.

maybe, just maybe, you're getting really warm and sweaty in your crotch area? My office at work is always quite warm and one set of maternity jeans are not very breatheable if you get where i'm going with this... but please go to the doctors if your even the tiniest bit concerned!!!

after I read your post I just wanted to write the same as pp said.
I have the jeans which is not breatheable and was freaked out at work once when I notice that my underwear is wet. but after I reallized that this is from the sweat not leaking.

I am not 100% sure but i am guessing it was just discharge, it couldnt be from the sweat i was wearing pj shorts. But it hasnt happened again so im guessing im good:)

You might want to mention that to the doc.
