Sometime last week, I noticed that I had what looked like sweat stains in one of my bras...I didn't really think much of it at the time. It finally started to dawn on me that it was my right breast leaking! And the problem has doubled in the last few days. I cut up a pantyliner because that is all I had on hand...and didn't think I'd find time to buy something more appropriate until this weekend.

I mentioned it to my OB on Tuesday and she said..."sorry. soon your other one will join in!"

Should I buy breast/nursing pads? Do I need to change them throughout the day? Right now, I'm just using a pantyliner and it is staying wet for most of the day. I am afraid of getting an infection...it's already starting to get a bit itchy. Also, is this normal for 24 weeks??

ive been leaking since about 16wks! isnt it fun?! you could just get some nursing pads. keep them changed though, and dry, otherwise i think your nipples can get sore or something? i dunno, im a first timer too :)

When I was pregnant with DS I started leaking at about 20 weeks. I had to get nursing pads and changed them pretty much every time I went to the bathroom. If I didn't wear a bra AND nursing pads to bed then DH and I would wake up in puddles! ;)

I like the Lansinoh brand of breast pads. They have the powder gel stuff like diapers inside that soaks up a lot of liquid. I don't leak a lot while pregnant but constantly while BF'ing. You could also try some lanolin ointment for the itching.

I've tried all kinds of Breastpads and I believe the best ones are the Lilypadz. They work better than anything and last for months. I leak really bad when I'm breastfeeding and those kept me from leaking out onto my shirt much better than anything else. They are a little pricey ($14.99-19.99 per pair) but they last a long time and you'll get tons of use out of them so they are worth the cost. I have two pairs.
