OK! I am freaking out a little bit. I was putting together baby gear yesterday and looked down and my shirt was soaked! It took me a little bit to figure out what was going on and then I realized that my breasts were leaking! I have heard that this is pretty common but it just scared me a little. I wanted to make sure this was not a sign of labor coming on. This is my first pregnancy so I really do not have a clue.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Are you absolutely sure it was milk! That's wild if it is! Usually your milk doesn't come in until 3-5 after delivery, especially with your first. Leaking small amount of colostrum is common. I don't know if it means delivery is immenent, but it would mean that you will have happy babies!

I have been leaking since I was 20 weeks but not enough to soak my shirt. I would just know because I would have dry crusties (sorry TMI) when I would take my bra off. I have heard it's normal, try getting nursing pads to help. Also as long as you've been feeling the babies move it's ok. If you are leaking and haven't felt good fetal movement in a while call your doc asap. I'm not saying that to scare you or anything but just wanted you to know. Otherwise, leaking is normal although embarrassing.

Seeeeeeeeeeeeeee, I told you this was my first! I meant colostrum!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA :) I have no idea what it is called. Yes the babies are moving just fine. I did go and buy some nursing pads last night. I have not had any more leaking since yesterday. I was bending over putting stuff together so maybe it was the pressure I was putting on my chest. I am just glad to know that it is normal. :) I go back to the doctor tomorrow so I will make sure to mention it to him while I am there.

    Thanks.

I started leaking at about 16 weeks, it freaked me out!! It's not enough to soak through my shirt, but it's definitely there. I guess it starts at different times for different women!
