For a week straight, Seamus has been waking all wet. They wear Huggies Overnight size 5 (they are 26 pounds). Size 5 is the biggest right? I dont put their diaper on until right before they get in their crib.

When this was happening to me, someone suggested buying the next size up (6 in the regulars) and then doubling them up. It was kinda of costly, but it fixed my problem until they grew a little but and fit in the diapers a little better.

Sorry, I'm not much help, but maybe toher will have a better idea.

Sorry, let me clarify. I mean still put on a size 5, then put a 6 on over the top.

Ditto going up a size. We always knew it was time for the next size when the leaks were consistent and not isolated.

I would also consider liquid intake...are they getting any liquid during the night? If so, I'd start cutting back on that if you find that a bigger size doesn't fix your diaper problem. Too much nighttime liquid could also cause sleeping (wet & uncomfortable) issues not to mention complicate things once potty training begins.

I have seen size 6 most places and then they have the big-kid pull ups in sizes bigger than that (for older kids who wet the bed). I think they are called "Good Nights" or something like that.

I don't know what size they make them up to, I'm running to Target so I will check for you and report back.

Mine are in a size 4 overnites and they are big on them and Trevor is 23 lbs. What about putting a regular diaper underneath the overnite?

Nicole, try buying a package of diaper doublers. They are the only thing that work for us. I buy them in the grocery store and there are 30 to a package. I think they cost $3.99. HTH!

This is what I was thinking. At 26 lbs. you are close to a size 5, but really not there yet. If they areTOO loose they'll leak too!

We are going to be running into this problem soon with Haley. I don't think they make size 6 overnights. I am glad you asked this questions can't wait to see the responses.

Even though they are just under what the package weight says for the overnights, they are not too big. Maybe because they are not that tall for being 26 lbs.

Tonight I put them in their size 5 and then on top of that I put their size 5 overnight. I am someone who is always about comfort (no itchy sweaters, no turtle necks!) so at first I thought how can I do this but it actually was ok! Cant wait to see how it worked in the morning. THere is no way pee is going to get through this double barrier!

Thanks everyone for your suggestions! I will check those diaper doublers out!

Here's what we do...now, we started by going up a size, then using a doubler, and NOW i use a size 5 Huggies overnight (I stopped the doubler) and put on a pair of cotton-lined, plastic outside training pants. I believe I found them at Wal-Mart in a 2-pk. It works for us! Ian looks like a bubble butt, but wakes up dry. LOL.

    Good luck!!!

Ditto on the diaper doublers. The only place I can find them locally is Safeway(store brand) and they run about $3 for 30. We very rarely have leaks overnight using the doublers and most of those leaks are due to grandpa changing the last diaper! Before doublers, Katelyn was waking up soaked every day.

I checked at Target tonight Nicole when I was buying some overnites and they only went to a size 5 there.

If we have forgotten an overnite we've done 2 regular diapers and it has worked. Hope your solution works for you.

We used Diaper Doublers until just recently (they FILLED both the DD and overnite diapers!) They worked great and were a lot cheaper than wearing two diapers. We found them at Food Lion and Safeway. GL!

I have always used Diaper Doublers when the girls start leaking overnight. I have found them in Pathmark and Stop and Shop.

I never could find the diaper doublers. I took a different approach, I would go change the kids diapers just before I went to sleep. Around 10:30 or 11. This way they get to start new for the second part of the night. If their old diaper wasn't wet, I wouldn't change it, of course, but DD was almost always half way to being full. DS only sometimes.

The kids would wake slightly, but roll over and go back to sleep pretty quickly when I was finished. Worked best for us, since the larger diapers were just too large, and I really didn't want to put two diapers on - even tho the outer diaper would keep the bed dry, the inner diaper was still soaked and uncomfortable and tight - leaving marks on the kids skin.

This is what we do. Jonah is only 22 lbs, but at night, he's going thru a size 6 diaper. I try cutting back the liquid, but that doesn't help all that much. He's just a night time tee-tee'er. :D I just wait until I go to bed and change him again. It's soaked when I change him in the middle of the night and soaked when he wakes up. I tried the diaper doublers but they didn't work for us. I may try them again sometime but for now this works.

I agree with this. I put my boys in size 6's at night (they fit in a size 4) and limit them to 1 8 oz drink after 5pm. Even after that James still has a sopping wet diaper in the morning.
