We're moving to a new house soon, and I am expecting a lot of changes. Right now, I get the laundry done, but never put away. In the new house, the washer and dryer are in the basement, with the bedrooms on the second floor. We are going to have 2 washers and dryers, but that doesn't help me get it put away. Any suggestions? Any cleaning tips would be great as well, I haven't vacuumed in two weeks. I know at some point the boys will keep each other occupied, it just hasn't happened yet!

Put the kids in the PNP with some toys, or in the play yard and get busy. Do the priorities 1st, while they are content, then do the rest. I was just getting cleaning tips myself this week and one thing that I think will save me a ton of time, is doing 1 load of laundry a night. I then will put it away while they are happily playing or watching a video. I can leave them to play for a long time in the baby proffed living rooms while I do cleaning or laundry.

I like Flylady. I don't have much time for cleaning so I like her strategies. Having said that, I hate folding laundry, like I get seriously angry feelings when I have to fold laundry, so my DH does it on the weekends, I just keep up with the laundry during the week and live out of the laundry basket until DH gets to it. Sad, huh? I know that doesn't really help, but we all have our cleaning quirks.

I like FlyLady too. I'm trying really hard to do her load a day method. It's been working so far (about one month)- that way I don't end up doing 7 loads in one long day.

Here's what I do. Our laundry room is upstairs by the bedrooms, so I fold on our bed. Then, I have to uncover my bed in order to sleep, so it is easier to put away when my motivation is sleep.

I presort the laundry and that helps make starting easier.

Just thought of something I wanted to add. I have at least 3 baskets and a divided hamper. I sort the laundry by color/type into the hamper. Then when I fold it, which I do as it comes out of the dryer, the kids clothes in one basket, linens and towels in another, and my DH's and mine in the 3rd. That way, even if the kids are napping, I can at least put towels and my own clothes away. My neighbor takes it a step further and instead of sorting by color, she sorts by person, since it all goes in cold water anyway.

Thanks, the FlyLady site is cool. The kids don't play in a play pen. We don't have room for one. They go through little play stations that I fold up. In the new house tho, I will have lots more room. The babies will get the majority of the dining room as their space. Its cramped here in our apartment. The kids sleep in our room, so putting laundry away while they sleep can be risky. I can't wait to move.

for baby clothes I have never "put them away" I have a large 6ft table that hosts all of their clothing in piles and a changing pad with diapers and all their toiletries. That way I can see all of their clothes and that way I also make sure that I'm wearing everything they have.

since one naps in their room and the other naps in my master bedroom, I just don't ever get a chance to put clothes away. I usually try to do so but only get a chance when My sitter is here.

    Oh Well, not a priority.

I'm really uncoventional, but I think folding the laundry is a huge waste of time and since you have b/b, this will work for you. I have baskets that I keep on the changing table and right out of the dryer onsies go into a basket, sleep wear goes into another, burp rags, wash cloths, diapers.. so on. However it works for you. Then whenever you need something it is right there in your bin/basket. Then the nicer outfit type stuff I hang up in some sort of order, but I put it on a hanger right out of the dryer. This is also works great for when people that come over to help out. Also, I have a delicate garmet bag, it's mesh with a zipper, I put all of their socks in there and wash them once/week, that way they don't get lost, and when they are clean, they get dumped in their own basket.
