I have not been on Twinstuff in a very long time, and right now I'm just praying my mom doesn't still get on here and read, too, because I am trying to keep this all quiet!

My husband had a vasectomy in November and I pretty much don't have a period or ovulate anymore, so there should be no logical reason to post here, but some strange stuff has been happening, and I'm just.... lost.

I've felt very bloated and just "off" for the last couple of weeks. About 4-5 days ago my nipples became extremely tender and painful. I could hardly take a shower. The last time this happened was when I was BF'ing my twin boys(now almost 5). I've also been crampy off and on. I have PCOS and haven't had a period or any hormonal stuff at all for the last three months or so, so I thought hmmmm.

I took an Equate test Tuesday morning and after about 3 minutes I saw it was negative so I stuffed it in a bag and off I went, leaving the test my car. The next afternoon (Wed), I pulled it out just to check it again before I trashed it. I've taken dozens of tests before and I ALWAYS look at it again before I trash it. It looked faintly positive, but I cannot tell if it's an evap line or what. I immediately took another Equate and one FRER test, both def negative. This was in the afternoon and my urine was fairly diluted, so I wasn't convinced.

Then this morning I woke at 5am to take the other FRER (can you tell I'm OCD?? lol). I don't think I peed on it correctly because I couldn't see, because the stick didn't get very wet. No lines at all showed up, so I went back to bed. I know I shouldn't have done it, but when I got up at 8am, there was still nothing and the stick was dry, so I peed on it again. I then definitely got two lines, but the test line was still quite light.

So I went and got a qualitative blood test, which came back negative. However, I found out the lab cut-off for positive is 50. When I had my first beta done when I was pregnant with my twins, I was only 48. Technically, that would have been a negative test with this lab.

I also took a Dollar Tree test that while initially looked negative now MAYBE does show a VERY faint line. I have read that really super low levels just take awhile to show up and it's not necessarily an evap line (??).

I'm still not convinced I'm not pregnant. I obviously haven't been checking my temps or anything, but my temp is def elevated, my boobs hurt so bad it's hard to walk, and my pelvic area is very tender. I have never, ever seen an evap line on any test I've taken and find it hard to believe I now have two tests with late faint lines and it means nothing, combined with my symptoms. However, there is the somewhat important fact that my husband was snipped AND I was pretty sure I don't ovulate anymore....

Any advice? I'm going crazy as you can see, but my goal is to wait to re-test again early next week.

Hmmmm, I say stop taking all those tests and go to your doctor. You are driving yourself crazy!

go to the doctor and i'm pretty sure they could tell if your cervix is shut. or even an ultrasound?

 I'd wait a little bit and then try again on perhaps Sunday! Stop taking tests, you'll be seeing lines in your sleep. I know it is hard to wait. I know with your symptoms, it is hard not to jump to conclusions.

I agree that I wouldn't assume that you're not pregnant. Sounds like you need to wait a bit and see for sure to avoid any "faint" responses, but that's SOOOO hard to do, I know. I'm a POAS-aholic. So, keep us posted.

In my POAS experience, if the dollar store test is + within the time limit then you are probably pregnant.

See, I just love these threads! Either way it turns out...I love the excitement! LOL! Have you tested today? :) I can never wait, but really I've only had one child where I tested probably too soon. The line was so faint I did the reverse photo thing to see it. I took another test daily until it was for sure!

Ladies, thanks for the words of wisdom. I needed them.

I am out of town, so it's been easy to be distracted and not think about taking any more stupid tests! LOL. My goal is to wait to test again until at least Monday, possibly Tuesday.

I'm fairly crampy and feel like I'm going to start, but there's nothing there. Maybe I'll start and this is nothing? Haven't had a period on my own for years....?? Or maybe ??

Not to add to the confusion and stress, but feeling faintly crampy is an early pregnancy sign. I can't wait to hear your next results- I'll be watching this thread!:)

Just last week I took a equate home pregnancy test and got a positve. Then followed by 3 negatives at home. I am going in for a blood test on Monday..... I don't think I am but you never know. I know how ya feel!

Update: the cramping has increased A LOT. I've spent a great deal of time in the fetal position. I cannot believe I haven't started my period.

Temp still up a bit but not as much as before. Boobs still killing me.

It's been a looonnng time since I've checked my cervix myself, but I do remember the changes in it and what that felt like. I checked it this morning and it was quite high and pretty soft.... certainly doesn't FEEL like it's in the right place before my period would start, but ???

Holding out till at least tomorrow before I test again. Will post results here. Thanks!

You should post pictures of your tests.

Well, I tested with a leftover Dollar Tree test this morning and it was definitely negative. My symptoms are still the same, although I am getting a bit more uncomfortable over the area of my right ovary. This could be meaningless, however.

I think it's safe to say I'm not pregnant, but I obviously have no idea what's been going on with my body. My annual is next week, so maybe I'll be able to sort it out then.

Will post again if anything else noteworthy comes up!

I just wanted to give everyone an update here since you have all been so supportive....

My annual was scheduled for today, and after I had another negative blood test and a normal TSH reading last week, my OGYN told me to also plan on having an u/s afterward. So of course, last night I woke up cramping horribly with lots of blood! I was having a period! I had to laugh. I’ve had this annual scheduled for over a year, I’ve been waiting for a week to know what’s wrong, and I cannot remember the last time I had a period on my own with no intervention whatsoever… like 5-7 years probably! God truly does have a sense of humor.

They ended up NOT doing the annual (with PAP, etc), but they did do an ultrasound (lovely!). All signs point to me simply having my own, real big-girl cycle, complete with ovulation and everything! Pretty exciting stuff. I had fluid around my right ovary (which is where my pain had been worse), my endometrium lining was thick, etc. They did see the ring of cysts all over my left ovary, classic sign of PCOS, which I already had been diagnosed with.

I asked him what the chances were of having had a chemical pregnancy, and he said it was unlikely but didn’t rule it out. Said most likely the tests were inaccurate. However, this evening I’ve been cramping hard and passing thick, long clots of blood/tissue— SORRY! I have never seen anything like it. One piece was at least six inches long… I’m not convinced there wasn’t some form of pregnancy going on, but I'll probably never know the answer. My husband refuses to take in another semen sample, so I guess we'll just leave it at that. If I do end up pregnant at some point, we'll know the answer, lol.

My doctor did say I’m going to have to stop doing what I’ve been doing— I can’t just keep going without a period. I either need to go on the pill or take provera at least every other month to make myself have a period. Otherwise I’m going to get endometrial hyperplasia, which makes you high-risk for uterine cancer. What I’m doing isn’t healthy.

With my symptoms, I was prepared for something bad to be on the u/s, but I'm so thankful that was not the case. Thanks again for everything.
