Kindermusik for 2.5-3 yo...

Hey!

My DH has been bugging me to get the kids into some sort of music class. Evan really enjoys music and he wants to have us cultivate that. The only type of classes I have heard is kindermusik, but I have only heard of people doing them when their children were younger.

Is/has anyone taken there children when they were 2.5 -3 yo? Did they enjoy it? The classes are costly so I would like to get as much feedback from you all as possible before we commit.

My kids have been involved in the Music Together program since they were babies. This is a great program that is specifically for kids from newborn up to 5 years old. I think that the 2-3yo age range would have the most fun in the classes, though. Their main website is here and you can see if there are classes in your area by using their class locator. I don't know how much Kindermusik costs but I found the Music Together program to be pretty expensive, too.

 

OUr girls have been in Kmusik since 6 months thru almost 3. We have loved it entirely! There are Music Together classes which I hear are really good too. I think the instructor is a big draw. If they can relate and make all the children involved and comfortable and safe, then any music program will be wonderful. My girls just love music. We stopped at 3 and did some other activities instead.

 

We go to "Our Time" which is the KM class for 18 mos - 3 years. Mine LOVE it. They know all the songs and love to play the instruments in class. I find it much more enjoyable than the baby one!

My girls are 31 months old and we've taken kindermusik since Jan. They love it. It has taken them a little while to participate (they are a little shy) but they smile and laugh and enjoy it. It might depend on how good the teacher is but i highly recommend it.

 

Do they require parental involvement? I know alot of places require a 1 to 1 parent ration. I would love to do this. I actually have a call into our local KM program to get additional information.

Our teacher doesn't require 1:1 ratio. It was nice in the baby class to have an extra adult, but it's definitely doable by myself now. There are some lap bounces, but I can bounce both or they can take turns. Mine really enjoy it!
