is anyone on here, like, and ultrasound expert? or know of a website i can go to for references? see, back at our 24 week ultrasound, the tech determined that baby A is a girl. the "3 lines" were not super apparant, but i did see two circles inside the belly area. i assumed they were the ovaries. but now i learned that the testicles hide up there, near the kidneys until they drop (around this time). i didn't ask the tech what the two circles were, because she's not a very patient lady and doesn't exactly welcome questions (she's one of THOSE). and she's not really focusing on their sexes now during hte BPP's. i've googled everything... all i really want is a 24 week ultrasound pic of a male or female fetus with those two circles so i can figure it out. (this has come up now because my DH is not convinced both babies are girls ((and i don't think my mother is either)) ) .

    thanks in advance!

All I can say is that I have two boys and by 19 weeks it was completely obvious that they were boys I wish I could scan some of their u/s pictures but if you go to about.com and go to the pregnancy part of the website they have all kinds of u/s pictures that people have posted. I know there are several that show the sex of the baby. It is kind of confusing to get to but I want to say it's like the U/S gallery. I really think that if you had a boy in there you would be able to tell it looks like they have 3 legs.

There is a Def difference in boy and girl parts.. You can see the boy parts VERY well...

the 2 circles you saw were likely kidneys, our u/s tech always points out the bladder and kidneys at each u/s. the bladder is a little lower and in the middle, then there are 2 small circles a little higher and to either side. Gentialia can only be seen externally on a typical u/s, I think. I worried too that the tech had guessed wrong, I made her point out the boy and girl parts at 3 different u/s before I believed her!!

edited to correct my anatomy mistake!!

Our boy parts are always VERY visible on our biweekly u/s. There is no mistaking! I know girls can sometimes be harder to determine, but if the boy parts aren't visible, it's probably girls! Good luck!

That stinks that you felt like you couldn't even ask questions. I had such a great discussion with the tech that she asked me if I was a nurse as we were leaving (I'm not, I just play one on TV :rotflmbo: ) I agree with the PP that you probably saw kidneys. By 20 weeks, the boy parts were soooo obvious that I can't imagine a tech getting it wrong if they get a decent look at all. Maybe you can ask at the next U/S saying something like your DH has got you all worried because you've gone so very girly with the nursery and what if one is really a boy... I find blaming DH for questions I don't want to ask is helpful. :winking0009:
