Kids only wanting DH

I am a SAHM, and sometimes my kids only want my DH and not me. DH is home often - right now he is between jobs and is at home all day too. And, they still want him sometimes and not me.

It makes me a little sad because it seems only natural for them to want their mom. On the other hand, I am glad that they want to spend time with their dad and that we have the opportunity for him to do so.

Anyone else experiencing this or is it just me? And, if this does happen to you, how do you get past the feeling of rejection? <_< I guess I need to start preparing myself for those teenage years when they really won't want to do anything with me. ;)

Mine go through phases where only I can do everything for them or only DH can do things for them. I think it's very normal! It does kind of hurt when they reject mommy though :(

I LOVE THOSE TIMES!!!! Try to enjoy it and let your back and body have a brief respite. They'll be back to you in NO time!! :hug99:

Honestly I WISH that would happen in my house! Right now my girls are on a big ONLY MOMMY kick and not only is it running me ragged, it's breaking my poor husband's heart. I would LOVE for them to let him do things for a few days!!! Then I could sit down for a few minutes, LOL.

M&T switch who they will go to at any certian time or whime.
Ainsley was completely Papa's girls from the day she was born until 21 months. Since then it's been all about Mommy.I thought that "there are two of them! There should be enough for both DH and I!" But then they would switch again. When M&T were doing this, it really broke my heart. A few times it went on for weeks and weeks before it ended.
Now we laugh about it because usually at least one wants the other parent than the other two. Lately it has been M being Papa's girl, and A&T being Mommy's girls. They have figured it out that if they pick the parent that only "has one kid", they will get more attention.
Oh, but I remember the empty arms feeling. And feeling so blue about it. I wish I had an answer, but I do have sympathy. I hope it ends soon for you.
