Kiddopatumus Tiny Diner Placemats - Worth the $

I hate letting my girls eat of the table when we are in public. I actually asked for the Tiny Diner placements from BabiesRUs for the twins' birthday yesterday. We didn't get them so I was planning to buy them myself. However the earlier post about eating off the table made it sound like these placemats don't work. Anyone have any experience with them? Are they worth spending the money? My girls just turned 1 yesterday and I try to put their food on napkins, but they quickly get tossed on the floor with their meal.

Was not worth it for us. My older DD learned right away how to pull it right up.

They were great from when the boys turned one until maybe about 15 months. They really did not need them and they were more work taking them out and then back home again dirty. If you go out a lot then I say it may be worth it but if not, I dont think I would get them. I think they definately worked and I loved how the food fell into the little pocket at the bottom.

I haven't read the other post yet, but here's what we do. We have the fisher price booster seats that strap to any chair and have trays that attach right to them. Yes, it's sort of a pain to haul them into the restaurant with us, but it makes it sooooo much easier in the long run. They are comfortable for the boys to sit in (much more so than restaurant high chairs), I know the strap works to keep them in the chairs, and they have the trays attached so the boys can eat off their trays and I don't have to worry about the table. It works so well for us that it's worth lugging them with us.

Great in theory and I was very excited to use them...at first. They worked great the first half a dozen times we used them, then the boys figured out if they pulled hard enough the suction cups would let go and it would make a funny noise. Oh, and they loved it even better when they pulled them completely off! Usually they would be mid-meal and food would go flying! I wish they worked for us!

They worked well for us. The boys could pull them off but rarely did. You do have to be sure to wash them as soon as you get home because smells and stains won't come out. But for us, we went out pretty much once a week so that would have added up if we were buying the disposable mats.

We used these when we were going through that stage. I loved them. I was always giving them out at the restaurant to other moms. I got them at BRU or Target I can't remember which.

We use them at home, but use the disposable ones at restaurants.

We used them for quite awhile, but I hated taking dirty mats home in my bag (even in a baggy). We stopped using them after some time because they would not stick to the tables any more. But I think we got our money's worth.

I was gonna suggest these.. My mom bought some with Dora from BRU.. They are throw away and they stick down like a post-it with the sticky on the top and bottom.

We use these too. I like that I can just peel them off and throw them away when I leave some place.

We used these too - except ours had the sticky on all four sides - less of a chance they could pull them up! It's so nice when they are through you can just wad all the leftover food in a little ball on the mat and throw it away - quick cleanup!

I think we gave the tiny diners about 3 tries and gave up. Like the other poster, mine figured out that it made a really cool noise when they popped them up. Also, they loved to pull back on the little trough and fling the crumbs across the table. And ours really didn't stick down too well on some types of tables.

We also now use the disposable ones, and a little tip about those. For some strange reason the Dora ones only have the sticky on the top and bottom, but the Sesame Street ones have the stick on all 4 sides. They stay down much better. I get mine a target.

We used them quite a bit and still do. Yes my girls can pull them up so that is the only downer but I still try to use them.

We got them as a present (actually that is the only thing my MIL gave the boys for their birthday), and we hated them. I hated have to partially clean before leaving the restaurant (was not going to put something full of food in my bag) and then having to scrub them down when we got home.
