At my last appt, the nurse told me to start doing daily kick counts & 'grading' the boys (essentially...seeing how long it takes for me to count 10 movements/kicks/etc). However, I'm having a hard time differentiating between the boys. Every time I "THINK" I have it figured out how they're laying, I find out I was COMPLETELY wrong at my next ultrasound. I had an ultrasound last week, but think the boys have moved since then anyway (geesh, I think they move positions even sometimes MORE than once a day!). So, my question is, how do I tell who is who? In the beginning, my OB told me that if one baby was moving around, chances were both babies were fine. So, should I just try to count to 20 & grade them together or sit there & try to GUESS who is who???

I found it impossible to tell. I had one transverse and one head down, so they both kicked me in the same place under my ribs..

Good luck figuring it out, maybe someone else can help??

I had the same problem. One time I had an unscheduled appt & u/s because I could only feel 1 twin. Turned out that the way they were I was feeling both in the same spot on the same side. It was quite comforting too see how they were.

They really don't know what they are asking because it is very hard to tell who is moving and who isn't. I wonder how it is for a mom with more then 2. It would be cool to find out for myself.

my peri and np told me not to worry about who's who. they said count ten kicks and then they looked at the pattern of how long it took.

I drove myself crazy with the kick counts, until I finally just stopped counting, and instead, throughout the day, I would just make sure that I felt them both moving.

Since both of mine have been transverse throught the entire pregnancy (every u/s at least), I can usually by more movement up by my ribcage and way down there (bladder and cervix). However, there is days where I don't know who is who. I think feeling for two move is way more stressful than one. One day one will move more than the other....one of the girls is always making me nervous. I know they are in their sleep pattern too now...still worry worry worry!!
