So, my twins have been really quiet today. Usually when they are laid back, I count kicks for reassurance. Today they are extra laid back--I think they might be going through a growth spurt. I've counted about 18 movements, both sides of the belly, in the past 45-50 minutes. Should I be worried that it wasn't 20? I hear "10 kicks" for singletons, is it double for twins?

I dont think there is much a difference between 18 and 20 :)
Your babies sound bueno to me!
My baby boy didn't move for almost 2 days!!!!! I ended up playing horrible rap really, really loud and he moved for me :)

With my girls sometimes it seemed like they were rarely moving, but on the u/s the were kicking away (at each other). It sounds fine to me.

I asked my doc about kick counts...And she said she used to tell her patients to count kicks, etc....That was until she became pregnant! She said she wouldn't feel her baby ALL DAY! And she said with twins-FORGET IT! That helped reassure me...But what she did say was that if I ever was to notice a difference-a decrease-then I was to call. I learned they had quiet days...and usually when I went to bed-I would feel them here and there. Your babies are moving around-I wouldn't necessarily stick to the 20 kick counts...IMO.

And my Baby B...sometimes you wouldn't even know he is there. He's the one that always worried me-but at every appt he has been fine, breathing, moving, etc..It could be where they are too...

I have never done a kick count. I guess I just think if they move every few hours then they are fine(?)
There are days when they are quieter than normal, but then the next day they make up for it.
I wouldn't worry too much one might be kicking the other or towards your back where you cant really feel :)

I was told 20 kicks within 2 hours is the norm for twins; I'll admit I don't do them because they move all day long!!!

I realized when I was released from the hospital last week that the paperwork they gave me when I left said to count kicks. Ha! They also told me at the hospital that I have anterior placentas which is why I don't feel them. So, how am I supposed to count kicks? I actually do think I've started feeling them in the past couple of days, but I only feel a couple of kicks a day.

At my NST, I mentioned to the nurse how I didn't feel B too much, she said well she seems to be deeper in your uterus because she is harder to get the monitor on as well. I felt her move a lot the day before the NST and of course the day of it. I feel her all the time now.

I don't count the kicks though, they are always moving around. Even during NST I don't have to push the button if I feel kicks.
