How on earth am I supposed to do kick counts for twins? I can't tell who's doing what. All I know is that for the past few weeks I've been feeling a lot more on my left side, although the right side had it's good share of kicks. But for the past couple of days I've pretty much only been feeling movement on my right side - but I also get the sensation that maybe both babies are squished into my right side, because the left side of my belly is all mushy, but the right side is harder with lumps. Is that possible, or should I be worried that I haven't felt much from my left baby?

I had the same concern last week. I was feeling kicks on my left and right side, then it seemed like overnight i felt nothing on the left side. Then I had my ultrasound monday and both babies were transverse with both feet on my right side. So that was the reason i felt nothing on my left side. So now i'm trying to pay attention to if it "right high" or "right low"...if that makes sense.

Oh! I hope that's what's going on with me too! I don't have another u/s for 1.5 weeks! Thanks for sharing - that makes me feel a lot better!

Doc told me not to even attempt kc's-just eat something if I was concerned and lay down. I also was only feeling majority of movement on R but it turned out baby a was towards b kicking her and I only felt b-there were many days like this so try not to stress urself out too much. I'm sure they're both fine

I had the same sensation for a while too - that I couldn't feel Baby B distinctly for 6-8 weeks - ultrasound showed that he had turned so his back was against the (single) placenta, which muffled what I felt according to my OB, and he was mostly kicking his brother. He's since flipped back to breach with his feet a different direction and I feel both of them all the time again.

Another thing - sort of related - I had an NST at 35 weeks last week - 10 minutes on Baby A, then 10 minutes on Baby B. I was instructed to push the button every time I felt a baby move, regardless of who I thought it was or who was being monitored at the time - it didn't matter, as long as a baby was moving, push the button. I only add this because counting separate movement seemed irrelevant; then again, I'd just had an ultrasound showing both babies were kicking, had good heartrates, etc.

Interesting! Well I'm just glad that it can be "normal" to only feel movements on one side - I was getting kind of worried there!

I know its hard to tell sometimes. I was put on moderate bedrest yesterday due to IUGR of baby B and told to count at least 6 movements per baby in 1-2 hrs, 3 times a day. I have a nurse calling me every day and coming to the house 3 time a week to check my chart I am supposed to keep. I`ve always found I feel baby A more, and found out yesterday it has flipped to breech so now I`m confused as to whose where. It was easier when they were both transverse. Frustrating !

My doctor said not to worry about kick counts with the twins. YOu can't really be sure who is kicking.

YIKES! My baby B is also showing signs of IUGR, and that is the one that is on the left side - that I think I'm feeling less. I've been feeling kicks on that side a little more today, though. What is going on with your Baby B? How far apart are they in weight? 1.5 weeks ago mine were 1lb 5oz and 1lb even, with the 1lb baby having slightly low amniotic fluid. They are checking me again in another 1.5 weeks. They (the peri, by the way) never said anything to me about kick counts, though.
